This was the first ever competitive game for the reserves, which resulted in a dominant 2 nil victory.
Its was clear from the off that Goole purely wanted to spoil the game and make it scrappy.
The game never really flowed and was stop start with the opposition throwing themselves to the floor at every given opportunity and the referree surprisingly falling for it. The boys could have easily lost their discipline but did well not to rise or stoop to the oppositions level.
The first of ⚽️ Kirkys brace came from him been alert to pounce on a ball, in mix up between defender and keeper and calmly put the ball in the back of the net. 0v1 HT
Our second came from a half break forward with 👟Cam managing to poke the ball through to ⚽️Kirky who again beat a defender and fired the ball home. 0v2
🏅Supporter MOTM Pinder who was solid at the back and set the tone for a physical battle with a crunching tackle in the opening minute.
🏅 MOTM George with a great performance showing calmness and dominance infront of the back line, protecting our lead.
Although not our best performance, a wins a win which sees us into the next round of the Cup.🏆
🟠⚫️Manager Miggys analysis:
My only criticism was our control of the game and ball retention which we can work on in training. The sending off for 2 yellows didn't overshadow the game as even with 10 men, they only managed to create 2 chances, which only came from set pieces.
We must learn that sometimes you will get zero decisions from referees which was certainly the case today.
Special mentions to đź’ŞJordan who was solid at the back, with numerous headed clearances.
🧤A clean sheet for Lennon is a bonus for the team and himself.
Overall a solid performance and we will look to carry this on into next week's game and keep the momentum!!🟠⚫️
