At Pilates Avenue we believe to get the best out of your Pilates workout there are somethings you need to learn (and sometimes return too) to get the best out of your Pilates practice.

Within our Fundamental classes (Monday 6:45pm & Tuesday 9:30am) we cover these movements; ensuring you understand your body and how to work it efficiently. By doing this we aim to help you get the best out of your Pilates practice and keep you safe as you start to challenge your body.

Even better though - Fundamental classes aren't just for beginners. We can all benefit from going over the basics every now and again. This helps us to perfect our technique as we progress through the harder repertoire with ease.

This is us team PA - Lisa, Emily, & Lilian.

We love to bring our personality to your Pilates practice...

Lisa - loves the detail of movement but may get a little sidetracked.
Emily - loves to giggle, geek out (she loves to know everything about everything she does) and dance. She brings her passion for dance to our barre classes.
Lilian - is the ultimate teacher in her day job she is a lecturer with loads of experience. She brings that experience and patience to her Pilates teaching making her a great instructor for our beginners classes.

Have you been thinking about starting Pilates but not sure when or how??

We have a new Pilates Beginners block starting on the 3rd July.

These classes are designed for those who are completely new to Pilates and those who need a refresh. I block will cover many of the fundamental Pilates exercises as well as the beginner level classical exercises. These exercises will help you to understand Pilates and get the best out of your sessions now and in the future.

In a meta-analysis which included 118 clinical trial and 9710 participant Fernandez-Rodriguez et al (2022); found that participants between the ages of 18-65yrs doing 1 hours or Pilates twice per week had a 93% improvement in their lower back pain. This was the highest likelihood of improvement compared to any other form of exercise included in the trial.
