Coaches Corner: Hollow Hold 🤓

Most people rush straight to the finished position and completely lose the point of the movement.

Instead, build it step by step 👇

Step 1
Bring legs off the floor

Step 2
Lift shoulders and arms off the ground

Step 3
Extend the legs

Step 4
Extend the arms overhead

The goal is keeping tension through the trunk while maintaining control of your lower back against the floor.

Comment below if you want more movements simplified 👇

Your results are rarely down to one big decision. 🧠

They’re down to the standards you choose to live by every day. 🫡

The standard of turning up when you said you would.

The standard of doing what you said you’d do.

The standard of taking ownership when life gets busy.

Because your decisions become your standards.

And your standards become your results.

If you’re constantly lowering the standard, don’t be surprised when the results follow.

If you’re ready to be around people who expect more from themselves, support each other and hold a higher standard, you know where to find us. 👊🏻

We run two fitness based sessions every week and here’s why…

Fitness sessions are often the easiest sessions to get involved in, but they can feel like the hardest ones to do.

At Project Y, we’re here to help people achieve their goals, but we’re also here to reshape what people think training should be.

That’s why we prioritise Small Group Personal Training over classes.

Every member has different goals, different abilities and different starting points, so we tailor the journey to the individual rather than forcing everyone into the same mould.

But, fitness should have its place in everyone’s training programme and here is what our mid week capacity is all about.

“A session designed to build your ability to work, recover and keep going when things get uncomfortable.”

It’s hard.

It feels longer.

At times you’ll want the clock to move a little faster.

But the reward isn’t just improved fitness.

It’s resilience.

It’s confidence.

It’s knowing you can handle more than you thought you could.

And when you put a room full of people through that challenge together, something else happens too.

People connect.

People support each other.

People keep coming back.

This what Wednesday Capacity is all about.

Not just building fitter people.

Building more capable ones.

If you’re interested in becoming more capable and want to do this around others like you… DM Capacity and let’s connect 👊🏻

Strength training is not just about looking better. 👀

It’s about keeping your quality of life high for as long as possible. 📈

Stronger muscles 💪
Better endurance 🏃
Lower blood pressure ❤️
More longevity 📅

Then there’s the part most people overlook…

The environment. 👊

Training is easier to stick to when you actually want to be there.
Good people 🤝
Good coaching 🎯
A place that pulls you back in even on the days motivation is low.

And ultimately?

Strength gives you options.

To move well.
To stay capable.
To keep doing the things you enjoy for longer. 🔥

So why would you not train?

Your problems aren’t unique. 👀

“Too busy.”
“No motivation.”
“Fallen off track.”
“Need to get my head right first.”

We hear it every week.

Most people think they need more motivation.

Usually they just need:
• Structure
• Accountability
• A plan that fits around their life

That’s why we coach the way we do.

Because life will always be busy.
Stress will always exist.
There will never be a “perfect time”.

We’re hear to help you be consistent and take the guess workout for you 👊🏻

Still stretching before you run? 🤦

Most runners either:

Skip a warm up completely 👀

Or stand holding stretches thinking they’re ready to run 🫣

Your warm up should actually prepare you to move.

Think:

* Increase heart rate
* Open up the hips
* Prep calves, hamstrings and ankles
* Get your body ready for impact

Here’s a simple one you can use before your next run 👇

1-2 Rounds

• Leg Swings x16-20 each leg
• Cross Body Swings x16-20 each leg
• Reverse Lunges x8-12
• B Stance RDL x8-12
• Alt Pogo Jumps x20-30s
• Single Leg Pogo Jumps x20s
• Russian Baby Makers x8-10

5-10 minutes.
Just a better way to prepare your body to run.

Save this for your next session 🏃

It’s not easy.
And it shouldn’t be.

Changing your habits isn’t easy.
Getting stronger isn’t easy.
Showing up consistently when life is busy isn’t easy.

But that’s why coaching matters.

At Project Y we’ll meet you where you’re at.
We’ll adapt things to your ability.
We’ll coach you properly.
We’ll help you build structure that fits your life.

But you still have to give effort.

Because results come from consistency, accountability and doing the work even when it would be easier not to.

That’s the difference.

Effort > ability.

You’re getting it wrong…🫣

Most people are trying to build their nutrition around convenience instead of structure. ❌

Protein shakes, bars and yoghurts can be useful tools when you’re busy.

But if most of your protein intake comes from supplements, there’s usually a bigger issue:

Your actual nutrition habits aren’t in place yet.

Build meals around proper food first.

Then use supplements to help fill the gaps when needed.

That approach is normally:
✔️ more filling
✔️ more sustainable
✔️ better for long term results
✔️ cheaper

Supplements should SUPPORT your nutrition.

Not become it.

What’s your go to protein source right now? 👇
