🏏 JUNIOR CRICKET WEEKLY ROUNDUP 🏏
Just one game for our teams this week (holiday availability put paid to our final U13s fixture of the summer 😢), but we still have some huge achievements to celebrate across the club! From a completed virtual walk to Lord’s, to a volunteer award at Old Trafford, and big runs against county opposition—our juniors have been busy! 👇

🔹 U11s vs Winnington Park (Away)
The summer heat was back for a closely fought match away at Hartford! Batting first, we set a competitive total backed by brilliant early runs from Ezra (21) and Archie (11), plus great boundary hits from Ethan and Jack.
Our bowlers were super accurate, conceding just 12 extras across the whole innings. Archie, Noah, and Sasha all picked up wickets (plus a top-tier run out from Sasha!). Winnington Park just edged the result on wickets, but it was a fabulous team effort full of positive cricket. Lots to build on as we look toward winter nets! Well played, team! 👏✨

🔹 Virtual Walk to Lord’s — Completed! 🚶‍♂️📍
A massive congratulations to our dedicated group of juniors who completed their sponsored 200-mile virtual walk from Kingsley all the way to Lord’s Cricket Ground in London! They put in a huge effort over the week—we think they’ve almost walked all the way back!

🔹 Cricket Collective Award Winner 🏆
A big shoutout to Milo Reeves, who made the trip to Old Trafford last week to collect his Young Cricket Collective Champion certificate! Milo has shown incredible commitment to volunteering, supporting both junior games and training sessions. Well done, Milo—fully deserved! 🌟

🔹 Individual Spotlight: Joey Ayre 🏏💥
U13 player Joey Ayre has had an incredible week playing district and academy cricket:
Captainage and a brilliant 45 against Staffordshire U12s, top-scoring for his side in a nail-biting finish!
An outstanding 101 NOT OUT against North Wales for his academy side at Neston CC, captaining his team to a comprehensive victory and taking home Player of the Match! 🥇
Huge congratulations, Joey! What a performance!

Training continues for our mixed groups, and we are officially opening up spaces for all junior age groups for next season!

🏏 Junior Cricket Weekly Roundup! 🏏

Just the one game this week and it could be one of our last for the season. Training will still be on this week and awards evening is scheduled for a few weeks time. Come down and see us train tomorrow, bar will be open 5.30-8!

🔹 Wednesday: Under 11s vs Over Peover (HOME) – Loss
Autumn arrived early with a cold, wet, and windy evening, but the team braved a sharp downpour to put in a spirited performance against Peover.
Pippa led the side as captain, and our bowlers put in a great shift. Olivia picked up two wickets, Ethan claimed one, and Sasha executed two sharp run-outs, backed up by fantastic work behind the stumps from Jemima. Zack, Pippa, and Reuben all bowled brilliant deliveries that somehow just missed the bails! Peover’s aggressive running off their opening pair ultimately proved the difference, setting a strong foundation.
With the bat, we showed real intent and scored just ten fewer runs than a confident Peover side. Sasha, Zack, Ezra, and Jack all found the rope, Reuben scored a brilliant boundary on his hardball debut, and Noah smashed four boundaries!
The main area for growth was protecting our wickets—losing 14 against their five cost us, with a few too many run-outs and loose shots at straight balls. However, the kids had a great time despite the weather, giving us clear focus areas for training as we head into our final two games of the season.

🔹 Junior 200 mile walk!
Several of our juniors are doing a sponsored walk to raise funds to help purchase our home ground. They are doing a virtual walk from Kingsley all the way to Lord’s and only have 50 miles left to walk!! From dog walking to exploring the parks of London the kids have put the miles in! Please donate to support the children and leave a message of encouragement!
