🚨All Stars & Dynamos priority window now open!🚨

The whole club rebrand may not have happened yet, however ✨Torquay & Kingskerswell CC✨ are please to announced that you can now sign up for our All Stars & Dynamos programmes this summer!

The programmes are set to start (weather pending) on the 10th May, both at 6pm, at the Recreation Ground in Torquay. All Stars will run from 6-6:45pm, whereas Dynamos is from 6-7pm.

Club Statement:

Friday 8 March 2024

Following separate EGMs, members of Chelston & Kingskerswell Cricket Club (CKCC) and Torquay Cricket Club (TCC) have officially voted in favour of merging the two clubs, in a move aimed at enhancing the future of cricket in the Torbay and Teignbridge area.

The Devon Cricket League and Devon Cricket Foundation have supported this merger, which will take immediate effect so that it is one club for the forthcoming season.

The decision to merge comes as both clubs have faced significant challenges in maintaining player commitment for the 18-week summer season. With dwindling numbers of players available, the prospect of both clubs struggling to field two teams became increasingly likely.

Tim Western of TCC said that ‘Since the turn of the new year, discussions between the two clubs have revealed that a merger would be mutually beneficial. By combining resources and efforts, the merged club believes it will be stronger together, able to offer more cricketing opportunities, and most importantly, provide a sustainable future for cricket in the area.’

As part of the merger, the 1st XI (A Division) and 2nd XI (E Division West) will play at The Recreation Ground in Torquay, whilst the 3rd XI (H Division Central) will continue to play their home fixtures at Kingskerswell Playing Field.

The new name for the merged club has not been decided on yet, however that, alongside the new officers, will be announced in due course.

Vivek Kulkarni of CKCC said ‘This merger marks a significant step forward for cricket locally, demonstrating a proactive approach to address the challenges facing grassroots cricket. The unified club looks forward to building a vibrant cricketing community and inspiring future generations of players.

On Saturday 9th March, our vice-chair Steve Waters will be taking part in The Big Tackle, raising funds for the fabulous Rowcroft Hospice. This involves an 8 mile walk around Torquay.

We never know when illness may strike and it is reassuring to know that charities like Rowcroft exist to give immeasurable and valuable support.

For this week's 2nd XI Sunday, we go to another game in 2022, this time against Paignton 4th XI.

We batted first, and posted 147, largely thanks to an unbeaten 41* from Pat Duke, although that score could have been lower if the standing umpire wasn't looking at the trains going by!🚂👀

Paignton made it a tight game by sticking around, and in a game that could go either way, Anu George & Pat Duke bowled magical spells to win us the game!🪄

Some serious knocks in this week's 1st XI Friday🔥👀

Back in 2022, we faced Plymouth Civil Service & Roborough at home, in a top of the table clash. PCS&R batted first, and after posting 173, they had us 8/3,

Step forward Ruvan Joubert and Sady Jeelani, who put on a partnership worth almost 150, with Sady hitting 92 from just 58 deliveries, wow! We won with just under 20 overs left in the game😳

2️⃣Ⅺ Sunday!

The 2020 season wasn't a normal year for anyone, but we still managed to play cricket!

In this game against Ipplepen 3rd XI, we bowled first and managed to restrict them to 125 from their 35 overs, which we then knocked off with ease!

An unbeaten 52 from Ben Pritchard seeing us home with five overs left, securing the eight wicket victory!
