Kingsbury welcomed Dowlish to the Rec determined to make a quick start, having taken too long to get into games earlier in the season.
And a quick start is exactly what we got.
⚽ 1-0 | JT
Gibbo’s flick-on found the advancing Jack Thompson who took his time to pick his spot before calmly slotting home to put Kingsbury 1-0 up.
⚽ 2-0 | JT
It wasn’t long before we doubled our advantage. Ant picked up the ball in the middle of the park before playing a perfectly placed through ball into JT, who once again showed his composure to finish and make it 2-0.
⚽ 3-0 | Craig
A third soon followed. A Gibbo corner fell to Craig Adamson who took one touch before rifling the ball into the top corner, giving the Dowlish keeper absolutely no chance.
Dowlish pulled one back shortly afterwards. Their striker pressed well to win possession from the Kingsbury defence, rounded the keeper and slotted home to make it 3-1.
Kingsbury kept their concentration and restored the three-goal advantage before half time.

This time JT turned provider, playing Aaron Gibson through, who calmly finished to make it 4-1 and bring his tally to an impressive 7 goals in 5 games this season.
HALF TIME | Kingsbury 4-1 Dowlish
JT and Gibbo had been causing problems for the Dowlish defence all afternoon and, just after the restart, they combined again.

Gibbo’s excellent hold-up play allowed him to play JT through, and JT completed his hat-trick with another composed finish to make it 5-1.
The game then took a rather strange turn…
Kingsbury had a player sin-binned for contesting a foul, only for the situation to escalate further when he was then shown a red card for using the toilet instead of remaining on the sideline during the ten-minute sin-bin period. 🤷🏻♂️😂
With Kingsbury down to ten men, Dowlish capitalised on the extra man. A corner wasn’t dealt with properly and eventually found its way into the back of the net to make it 5-2.
Dowlish were now pushing forward and taking the game to Kingsbury, but it was Kingsbury who grabbed the next crucial goal.

A whipped-in free kick from Craig was met perfectly by the head of JT, who completed an outstanding afternoon with his fourth goal of the game, taking his season tally to 6 goals in 5 games.
With Kingsbury beginning to fatigue after spending a large part of the game with ten men, Dowlish grabbed a late consolation.
Another corner wasn’t dealt with and the ball fell to a Dowlish player on the edge of the box, whose good finish left the Kingsbury keeper with no chance.

A fantastic attacking performance from Kingsbury, with plenty of character shown after going down to ten men.
