Forton Res 2-2 Kingsbury

Just a short write up this week as I’m currently away and didn’t watch the game.

A much changed Kingsbury with most of the experienced lads out for various reasons made the trip to title chasers Forton.

As well as having some regular starters out we had also had our favourite ref for the game..

True to form there were sin bins from us and a red card for the opposition as always teams show frustration at decisions.

Despite this the lads put in another good performance against a team that were going for the league drawing 2-2 adding to our much better form in the second half of the season.

We now have just the one game left as we welcome Forton back to our place next Saturday.

Misterton 2-0 Kingsbury

I think frustration can be the only word that sums this game up. Having played 6 games in 23 days it’s fair to say we were a bit fatigued and to give us Tuesday mid week games instead of Wednesday games this season always seemed a strange decision from the league for us as we need that extra day for recovery especially with 7 of the starting 11 being over 30.

That being said we will always turn up and battle and we did just that first half trying to play football on a pitch that had been unkept for a few weeks by the looks of it.

Kingsbury won a corner and with a Misterton player throwing his arm in our players face somehow that resulted in a yellow for each player.

A few minutes later the same Misterton player left a late challenge on one of our players. This of course resulted in a free kick Mistertons way. Frustration from this lead to our first sin bin of the day.

HT 0-0

Second half and the Kingsbury lads were really feeling the lack of recovery time. Misterton took full advantage and went 1-0 up early into the half.

More poor decisions from the ref including a yellow card to the Misterton keeper for dissent as ‘you can’t sin bin a keeper’ lead to more frustration in the team and a red card for a second yellow.

Misterton went on to score a second against ten men but Kingsbury created some good chances and held their own despite the odds being against them from the start.

Sam Batten and Craig both had notably good games battling well down both wings.
