Kingsbridge Cricket Club is a small, friendly, and inclusive club, welcoming players of all ages and abilities — from enthusiastic juniors to experienced adults. Our thriving Juniors section continues to grow, offering a warm welcome to both girls and boys who want to enjoy cricket, whether just for fun or in a more competitive setting. We run junior training s

essions throughout the spring and summer months and proudly enter teams across various age groups (U10 to U19) in the South Devon Youth Cricket League. Our junior teams are enjoying increasing success, with several players also representing South Devon District and Devon County — a fantastic achievement for both our boys and girls. Whether you're new to the sport or looking to take your game to the next level, Kingsbridge Cricket Club offers a supportive, welcoming environment for all.

A strong win for the 1s topped of with a performance of 95 of 67 from Flynn away at south devon.

The 2s at home to Plymouth unfortunately couldn’t bring the win home this week but will go again next week.

Women's & Girls' Cricket

This season has seen the exciting return of the women's section at Kingsbridge Cricket Club.

Although we started with a small group, the section has grown rapidly, with women of all ages coming to the club on Thursday evenings to enjoy cricket in a fun, welcoming, and supportive environment.

Whether you're picking up a bat and ball for the very first time or returning to the game after years away, everyone is made to feel welcome. It's fantastic to see players of all abilities learning together, improving their skills, and enjoying the social side of the game.

The future is looking bright, with friendly fixtures planned later this season and ambitions to enter a softball league next year as the squad continues to grow.

If you've ever thought about giving cricket a go, we'd love to see you.

Social Cricket 🏏

Want to enjoy cricket without worrying about promotion, relegation or league tables? Our social cricket programme is exactly that—a chance to play the game in a relaxed, welcoming environment where enjoyment comes first.

Matt Hammett has worked hard to revitalise this part of the club, organising a calendar of Sunday friendlies and midweek T20 matches. These fixtures bring together players of all ages and abilities, from experienced cricketers to those returning to the game after years away. While everyone enjoys being competitive, the emphasis is always on having fun and enjoying each other's company.

One of the highlights of the season was our fixture against the local secondary school teachers. It saw some familiar faces return to Kingsbridge Cricket Club to take on the social team. Cricket definitely took place... at least for parts of the evening! But the real winner was the atmosphere, with plenty of laughs, good-natured banter and a fantastic evening enjoyed by everyone involved.

Social cricket perfectly reflects what our club is all about—bringing people together, enjoying the game, and making memories both on and off the field. If that sounds like your kind of cricket, we'd love to see you

All Stars Cricket – A Fantastic First Year! 🌟🏏

This season marked a huge milestone for Kingsbridge Cricket Club as we successfully delivered the ECB All Stars Cricket programme for the very first time.

What a success it has been! Over eight weeks, 25 children aged 5–8 enjoyed their first taste of cricket through fun, engaging sessions designed to build confidence, teamwork and a love for the game.

The programme was made possible thanks to the fantastic support of players and volunteers from across the club, who gave up their time each week to ensure every child had a brilliant experience.

The season concluded with a presentation evening, where every participant received their certificate before celebrating together with a small buffet. Seeing the smiles on the children's faces was a fitting end to a fantastic first year.

We're already looking forward to running All Stars Cricket again next season and hope to welcome even more young cricketers as we continue to grow this fun-filled part of Kingsbridge Cricket Club.

A huge thank you to everyone who helped make our first year such a memorable one. Here's to an even bigger and better 2027!

Our junior section continues to go from strength to strength, with both our Under-11s and Under-15s squads growing in numbers and enthusiasm throughout the season.

Both age groups have enjoyed a fantastic summer of training and matches, with many youngsters getting their very first taste of cricket. It's been brilliant to see their confidence grow week by week as they develop new skills, make friends, and discover a love for the game.

This success wouldn't be possible without the commitment of our senior players, who give up their time to coach and support the next generation. In particular, Richard Carr and Freddie Ford have led from the front, providing excellent guidance and encouragement. They're also joined by our overseas player, Flynn Taylor, who has brought a fresh perspective from Australian cricket, sharing his experience and helping our youngsters see the game in a different way.

The future of Kingsbridge Cricket Club is in safe hands, and we're incredibly proud of what our junior section has achieved this season. 💚🏏

The 1s continue their fine run of form with a win against abotskerswell. With getting the team of a great start with 73 and with contributions from others lower down the order the team managed to reach what felt like a below par score of 176 all out however a superb bowling and fielding performance and figures of 3-16 from they managed to bowl Abots out for 151 resulting in a win for the 1sts.

The 2s looking for a win headed away to plymstock and after winning the toss they were in the field kingsbridge picked up a couple of wickets however strong batting from the plymstock middle order despite a few wickets and some good pieces of fielding they reached a total of 230. In the chase plymstock started well getting an early wicket and them taking regular wickets with the only ressistance coming from the 2s were bowled out well short of the total.

Looking to extend their win streak against cornwood at home they were in the field and despite Charlie weir taking an early wicket the cornwood top order batted well and reached a strong but chase able 196 and after a strong start and .george143 scoring his maiden 50 cornwood bowled well and managed to restrict the u15s from getting to the total resulting in them falling just shy of the target
