Waterborn Hub CIC Waterborn is an all year round Paddleboard school and club which brings like minded enthusiasts to socialise on and off the water.

Waterborn is a not for profit Community Interest Company, its a fully qualified BSUPA school encouraging people to learn Stand Up Paddleboarding and enjoy waterways safely.

Me and this years Men's SUP Surf Champion . Narrowly missed out joining him in the final. Last 20 seconds of the semis got knocked down to 3rd so didn't get through. Really pleased to showcase the 10'6 all rounder Neptune SUPs board to be a fun, responsive and stable board of choice for this year's event ran by our sports NGB Surfing England .

Well done to the Fit SUP In group today for their rescue session, learning multiple ways to assist others on the water.

If youd like to learn these skills we have SUP Safe Communities projects coming up that are free to attend that also cover these techniques thanks to the Devon Communities Foundation.

Have you entered this years SUP The Creek, guaranteed Event Tea Towel with signup extended to tomorrow night as Ill be at the Longboard and SUP Surf Championships in Cornwall. General entry and any alterations closes 25th September!

Our Junior Club learning and practicing important towing, rescue techniques and how to call for help. Very proud of how they have progressed, just 1 final session for them on the 11th September.

The weather tomorrow again looks unsuitable to run sessions safely so we have cancelled all bookings. Hopefully reopen on Sunday, stay safe.

When is it unsuitable to get afloat?

Our ability lebel will dictate this to a certain degree, 10 mph might be too much for some people where others can 'handle' stronger wind. A forecast only gives a brief overview but topography of the land could affect it in different ways.

Today all sessions are cancelled with wind gusting over 40mph but this actually leads nicely into a new free to attend project that starts tomorrow, SUP Safe Communities. When do we make that call to not go out.

The project gives paddleboarders practical skills and knowledge to help prevent avoidable incidents on the water — from understanding wind, tides and safety equipment to self-rescue and knowing what to do when things go wrong.
