It is with the heaviest of hearts and tearful eyes that I have to tell you that Pole Power Kingsbridge will not be opening its doors again.

Unfortunately Covid made things extremely difficult for us and as we don’t fit the box for other gyms or dance studios it’s been a difficult road to navigate.

My lease is also up on 30th September 21 and as some of you will know before the pandemic struck there were several issues with the studio and unfortunately 50% of the Landlord had become extremely difficult and I am therefore not in a position to renew.

I have extensively searched for new appropriate premises but they have eluded me and with the passage of time and the ongoing outlay for the current studio throughout lockdown my savings are depleted and although my wonderful husband continues to support me, I cannot justify spending his hard earned cash on another studio outlay if one were available.

I am both totally gutted and heartbroken to have to say this and I will miss you all terribly and feel I have let you all down, but this decision hasn’t been made lightly. I’m so sorry I cannot bring your happy place back, we had an amazing time and I truly did meet the BEST and most amazing people and for that I will always be truly thankful.

With current Covid cases locally continuing to climb I don’t feel I am in a position to offer a goodbye hoop swing or pole spin and again I’m sorry. Maybe in September when things calm down we could meet outdoors with the portable equipment and say our farewell.

Thank you all for your support during the period we were open and for loving my passion as much as I do and for making it the amazing place that we knew as Pole Power Kingsbridge.

With the current local cases of Covid continuing to climb and the issues surrounding ventilation in the studio I feel we are at the worst level of transmission in our area to date in this pandemic.

Please be assured that this is not an easy decision but I will continue to act in the best interest of Instructors and members alike and we will therefore remain closed until numbers sufficiently reduce. August was always a difficult month for us as childcare and beach days often meant class attendance was low but I am hoping to offer some informal sessions in August to reacquaint you with both Pole and Hoops.

I’m sorry that this may not be the news you were all hoping for but I’d like to get this right and not have anyone suffer contracting Covid as a result of attending Pole Power Kingsbridge.

** UPDATE - Covid Restrictions **

Hi guys, I’m getting lots of enquiries from both existing students and new students on when we can open.

It’s super confusing and I know I’ve been asked if we can hug, why can we not spot you? Well, that’s because for businesses social distancing still exists and therefore we would be required to wear PPE to spot you and this is just not practical, not to mention conflicts between insurance and training standards.

There are also issues with the studio in that other than the entrance door and hatch we do not have ventilation which is a must to operate at the moment. As our access is also now shared this would not offer any privacy to our classes.

I feel that Pole Power just wouldn’t be the Pole Power that we all know and love with the current restrictions and therefore we’ll be waiting to see if restrictions are lifted on June 21st as hoped so that we can operate as we did before but with sanitising stations and temperatures checks in force.🤞🏻

Monday 4th January 2021

No change here guys and gals, we remain closed throughout lockdown. I do however feel more optimistic that at the end of this lockdown, with the vaccine and people hopefully now realising they need to behave and play by the rules that Pole Power Kingsbridge will be able to re-open. Given the current contradictory CoVid19 Guidelines the fact that we are in a Tier 2 High Alert area, I have taken the decision that the studio will remain closed until 2021.

Until we are allowed physical contact so that we may ensure our students safety and are therefore able to routinely spot, we cannot uphold Pole Powers standards of safety and professionalism.

I know this news will be a disappointment to many but from myself and Kelly, we would rather no one is put at risk and that when we do come together Pole Power Kingsbridge is all that we love and remember it to be.

Sentiments I echo whole heartedly and that we need more than ever right now.
