Essentially Pilates offers Private Pilates Tuition at my beautiful studio with Pilates equipment, as well as small group classes both in the studio and online. Sharon trained with, and is a member of, The Pilates Foundation. The Pilates Foundation is a not for profit organisation, that educates, trains, and supports its teachers to the highest standard. Feet and balance are the theme for this month and here are a couple of exercises you can do in standing. The powerful muscles of the calf also act as a secondary pump; the first being the heart, so these are particularly useful if you’re sedentary during the day to get your circulation moving.

The month of June, we are thinking about balance and feet. This morning in class we tested our balance at the very beginning of the class to see where our baseline was and then we did some foot exercises and went back to check our balance. There was a great improvement and that was just in a couple of minutes. Falling over and breaking a hip can have devastating and tragic consequences, so we owe it to ourselves to start improving balance now. However old you are start now for your older self. And if you are midlife or older, you can improve it in just a few minutes of practice.

Granola prep for the week and for the win!! It can seem like a faff but nothing beats home-made granola and the stuff in the shops is full of sugar. I like it on top of my Greek yoghurt with some defrosted frozen fruits and a big dollop of almond butter. Yum yum!!

Good morning everyone, just a little bit about what I do. I teach Pilates on the apparatus on a one-to-one basis and I also teach Pilates work in small groups and online. My passion however is rehabilitation and I could often pick up when someone’s moving not as well as they might or as efficiently or they may have a little bit of pain then I can apply some of the techniques I’ve trained in over the years and very quickly we can see incredible improvements in their movement and also a reduction of pain.
