The story of Saturday has to begin with the 4ths. Gav lost the toss and they were put in to bat. Step up the father-son dream team of Matt and Leighton who put together a terrific 100 run partnership before Leighton fell 3 runs shy of his maiden 50. That disappointment didn't stop Matt though, he kicked on and brought up the first century of the season for the club. At the half way stage things were looking good. However it seemed like it was a good pitch as Redbourn kept pace with the asking rate. Freddie did what he does picking up wickets and Joseph produced a terrific 8 over spell going for only 12. But ultimately it was Jake who was tasked with defending 9 off the last over, on strike was the Redbourn centurion. He only went and took 2 wickets bowling them out with the last ball of the match. An incredible day!

The 2nds also claimed a win built on good bowling where the seamers shared the wickets around before Nishan ran through them. In the chase, Luke was at his calming best which allowed Sifan to get set and hunt down the total with ease.

The 3rds were up against it as they struggled to take consistent wickets. Though that didn't stop Tom from making a 50 to go with his earlier 2 wickets.

The 1sts had a tough day but Woodsy did take a wicket.

An absolutely bumper week on The Common this week! There are matches every day bar Thursday and the bar will be open most days too.

The weather should be good and when that's the case there are few better places to spend an evening than the patio at the club. So make sure you are getting involved.

After a wet weekend last time out, there's a much better chance of some cricket tomorrow!

The 1sts are away to Harpenden. The 2nds are on The Common hosting Radlett. The 3rds are on The Steiner against West Herts. The 4ths are away to Redbourn.

Could tomorrow be the magical 4 win day? Only time will tell!

Sadly the weather won on Saturday but that doesn't slow things down! This week sees the Women's Softball team return to The Common on Wednesday in addition to the usual collection of training and Junior matches.

Some cricket did get played on The Common on Sunday as the U13s claimed a really good team win against Abbots Langley.

Coming on the back of a successful weekend last Saturday we go again this week!

A full day ahead with the 2nds on The Common and the 4ths on The Steiner. The 1sts are away to Letchworth while the 3rds travel to Ley Hill.

Sunday saw the Women's Hardball team continue their debut league campaign with a trip to St Margaretsbury.

Despite a good effort they unfortunately fell short but that doesn't mean there weren't some performances with shouting about. Anna produced a fine allround performance pairing 21 retired with a 3fer.

Another step forward for the Women's section.

Oh so close to the magical 4 win weekend! 3 wins and a narrow loss meant that on balance it was a better weekend than the one before it.

The 1sts bowled first and bowled well. Woodsy finally got some reward for his good bowling to start the season, then Ellis took 2 in an over before Amit made sure the tail didn't wag too much. With the bat, Chethan did what he does, Langers went with him and that meant the 1sts claimed their maiden league win of the campaign.

The 2nds batted well with Jagath, Luke, and Sif all going close to 50s. The seamers then went to work with Fletch and JT bowling well in tandem before Ikmal ripped the heart out of the opposition.

The 3rds saw another player make their first 50 for the club as Dan marked his debut in style. Good contributions from Johnson, Andy, and Felix meant a competitive score. However, not enough wickets meant the opposition were always in the game and so it proved.

The 4ths had a dominant performance. 7 players made double figure scores which set a total that looked more than competitive. When Evie started ripping through the top order the result was clear. She was only denied a 5fer due to a dropped nick by Gav.

A really good day out for the club!
