Chair Pilates – 9.15am – Kineton Sports and Social Club. Mat class – 6pm – Kineton High School

Men’s mat class – 7:15pm, Kineton High School

Mat class – 9.15am – Barford Community Centre

Private sessions
1:1 or 2:1 sessions are available on request at the beautiful studio in the heart of Kineton. Prices £70 for 1:1 and £90 for 2:1

Sessions are tailored to your personal needs and goals, giving a bespoke, fast and effective route to the benefits of Pilates. The reason I love Pilates is that from personally practicing Pilates I have found physical imbalances, become more aware of my alignment and improved my posture. I have achieved an inner strength and become physically stronger. I am able to focus better but have also found a way to relax, therefore creating a balance in my life. But what gives me THE EDGE? Pilates.

Pilates has taught me to feel my body, fix imbalances, and stretch deeply.

Most importantly, it taught me how to breathe. By slowing my breath, I control anxiety. That calm allows me to visualise. Before a race, I lie down, close my eyes, and mentally execute every single step. These tools apply to anything in life: races, exams, interviews, fertility treatment or medical procedures. One of my clients even told me she practiced her Pilates breathing during chemotherapy. Even Chrissie wellington uses these techniques.

Huge thanks to my support team for helping me in this race: my family, friends, Coach Kate, Physio Dan, and my fabulous clients.

One more rest day, then it’s back to the mat and to train for the T100 World Qualifier.

Week 18 — European Championships are this weekend!

This week has all been about getting me running again after a month of foot pain. I cannot thank Dan from Pure Performance Physio enough for his support — he has been absolutely brilliant. Foot massages, treadmill sessions and some really helpful chats about the psychological side of injury. Thank you Dan! 🙏

I’m pleased to say I am running again, but my golden rule is to only ever change one thing at a time so you know what causes or prevents pain. So now I’m running and pain free… I daren’t ditch the scary pink Crocs just yet! (Obviously not wearing them to run in though 😄)

The rest of the week has been all about tapering — practising roundabouts as fast as I can to mimic the course, and the dreaded bike box packing. I sure hope I can race this race faster than it took (my husband) to pack that box! 😅 Thanks Jai!

Dealing with injury is tough mentally as well as physically — if you’re going through something similar, hang in there. Trust the process and your support team.
