Grab a brew and settle in folks… this is going to be a long one! β˜•πŸƒβ€β™€οΈπŸƒβ€β™‚οΈ
The Kimberworth Striders have been racing all over the place this week, and there have been plenty of brilliant performances, podiums and personal challenges along the way! πŸ‘

The week kicked off with the Damflask Relays (see previous post πŸ‘€), but the action didn’t stop there…

On Wednesday evening, a big group of Striders headed to the Not Ulley Res KMR, coming away with some fantastic results.
πŸ₯‡ Alex Broadhead and πŸ₯ˆ Sean Lee Sackfield battled it out for first and second place, finishing in 21:20 and 21:53 respectively.
πŸ† Amy Roper-Bryce is becoming a regular on the podium, taking 3rd Lady!
πŸ₯‡ Paul Casson also claimed victory in his age category.

Meanwhile at Elmton Chase Steve Lowndes was showing the youngsters how it's done, finishing in 20th position in a time of 32:25. Well done Steve!

Thursday evening saw four brave Striders take on the Higham Hurtle in the heat β˜€οΈ with Christopher Grayson leading the team home in 45:25.

The weekend started with Lily Doyle taking on another tough fell race at the Clougha Pike Junior Fell Race β€” and she raced so hard she even managed to race right out of her shoe! πŸ‘ŸπŸ˜‚

Philip Graham took on his first Ultra at the North Yorks 50km Ultra Challenge, battling the heat on the coastal route to finish in an impressive 8:07:41. Amazing effort Phil! πŸ’ͺ

David Sharp also stepped outside his comfort zone, completing his first sprint triathlon at the Rother Valley Triathlon in 2:12:54. What a debut! πŸŠπŸš΄πŸƒ

Damflask Relays – A Fantastic Strider Team Effort!

On Tuesday 16th June, 9 Kimberworth Striders teams headed to Low Bradfield to take on the Damflask Relays.

With humid conditions and a challenging climb to tackle, it was a tough evening β€” but nothing could match the determination and team spirit of our Striders! Every runner gave their all and represented the club brilliantly.

A special congratulations to our Senior Women’s team β€” Amy Roper-Bryce, Olivia Taylor and Jo Rooney β€” who finished 10th in their category with an impressive overall time of 1:18:22.

Well done also to our Senior Men’s team β€” Jack Harvey, Alex Broadhead, Steve O’Neil and Matt Allott β€” who battled against some very strong competition to secure a fantastic 15th place finish.

A huge well done to every Strider who took part β€” what a brilliant display of teamwork, effort and club spirit.

What a busy weekend of racing for the Striders! πŸ‘
Saturday kicked off bright and early with the Barnsley Boundary Relay at 8am. Our team of Wendy Richardson, Paul Hutchinson, Amy Roper-Bryce, Tom Hardman, Will Harvey, John Richardson, Jack Harvey, Lauren Corcoran and Danny Makepeace put in a fantastic team effort, finishing 5th in the Mixed Team category with an impressive overall time of 11:15:29. Brilliant running team! πŸ’ͺ

A slightly less nettly challenge took place at the Barmouth 10km, where Linda Roadhouse showed her grandchildren how it’s done, finishing in 1:35:19. Fantastic work Linda! πŸŒŠπŸƒβ€β™€οΈ

Closer to home, a few Striders were chasing the famous cake at the Killamarsh Kestrels Race to the Cakes 🍰
Jo Rooney had an outstanding run, finishing as 1st Strider home, 3rd lady overall and 1st in her age category in 56:51. Amazing! πŸ‘

What a fantastic evening at the Kimmy Kanter!

With the weather on our side, we were delighted to welcome 173 runners to enjoy the beautiful trails and great company that make this event so special. Thank you to everyone who entered and joined us β€” your enthusiasm and support created a brilliant atmosphere throughout the evening.

A huge thank you also goes to our incredible Kimberworth Striders volunteers. As always, the team pulled together to make the event run smoothly, and their hard work behind the scenes is what makes evenings like this possible.

Finally, special thanks to our dedicated results team of one, who has been hard at work compiling the provisional results, which are now available.

🏁 Race starts: 7:00pm

πŸš— Parking is available at Millmoor Juniors, but the gates will be locked after the race. If you're staying for the presentations and buffet, we recommend parking at The Droppingwell (S61 2AB) or on nearby residential roads.

🍽️ Presentations and buffet will take place at The Droppingwell after the race.

πŸ‘Ÿ The trails are currently very dry, so road shoes should be fine, but with some rain forecast, it may be worth bringing your trail shoes just in case.

Sunday saw Tom Burns and Matt Allot lighting up the streets of Manchester. Matt stormed home with a fantastic new PB of 41:09, with Tom close behind in 41:47. Brilliant running from both!

A group of Striders crossed into Nottinghamshire for the Gerald Storey Memorial Run at Clumber Park.
