For the last couple of years a handful of us has ventured to Newark for the Junkyard dogs show, so this year some of the others decided they wanted to tag along, so off we went. To say the journey there was π© would be an understatement, 7 hours of crap traffic but we got there through torrential rain and mayhem into glorious sunshine, however nobody mentioned the randy insects that decided to come out for an organisation at sunset, Cockchafers I believe.
We took four teams down with some green dogs and first time travelling handlers so we were going to be busy.
Unfortunately Dora and Fiona and Ryker and Gillian couldn't attend due to family commitments π§‘π
On the human side for celebration our very own Laura was promoted to a level 2 judge. Well done Laura, just shows that you've been paying attention all these years while your children have been stealing your dogs to run and leaving you spectating, and now you have your own dog to run π€£
Big stand out for the weekend was debutee Georgie and Gabrielle. First time travelling with us for this pair and Georgies debut in League racing and boy did this lad smash it out the park with a PB of 3.72 πππ what a way to introduce yourself to flyball son, fookin awesome.
Killie Incrediballz managed a new seed time of 16.31 ππ Rayna getting a new PB of 3.80 and getting cracking start times and young boy Risk settling in well even though hes taken a fancy for the sisters π
Serial Killies gave Jess some more minutes under her collar after some retraining and dont think she put a paw wrong all weekend which is a fantastic sign.
Natural Born Killies had a successful weekend, Dobby got more League racing under his collar and his first time doing two days. Breagha done brilliantly running midpack and didn't run out once which was a massive improvement, well done girl.
Ultimutz got a new time, for this line up of dogs, of 15.77 (club record 15.70) and also introduced Solo into the line-up on the Sunday due to an injury to Noah, Kirsty was only told she was in the team about 20 minutes before we ran as we knew she would be π© herself but she and Solo done fantastic.
Results ribbon wise may not have been the best but we managed to improve, rejig and tryout so much in this outting that made for such a fantastic trip away.
Need to also mention the work that our members put into the shows these days is spot on, everyone has their jobs to do and its all starting to gell nicely so well done team, π brilliant work.
OK results.......
