Well that’s a wrap to a brilliant season for the U10 Yellows!!

Congratulations to all the team! You have done the team, your parents and us coaches proud!

Killingworth U10 Yellows W - L Newcastle City Juniors Girls U11 Jaguars

Last game of the season ⚽️

An early kick off saw the lads take an early lead with some good early pressing and attacking which saw a good shot from Alfie saved by the keeper which was then neatly finished by James

The lads played some of the best football so far this season, lots of passing and great teamwork with the lads working for one another. A few chances went by in the first half with Isaac hitting the woodwork, and Aaron, Alfie, James and Leon all going close.

The Jaguars also went close when a great ball cut through the Yellows defence but their attacker put it inches the wrong side of the post.

We went back out after half time looking to extend the lead

Some good work in midfield saw Isaac with the ball with a player on his back when he managed to cross the ball into Leon who finished calmly and tidily

This was quickly followed by a third, this time Isaac running down the wing, crossed it into Aaron who fired it home

Leon then scored his second and the Yellows fourth after Alfie’s ball found Leon in space

There was then a bit of a battle in midfield for the ball and Luke who made a cameo upfront battled to win ball and played it into the path of Alfie who fired it home from the edge of the box

Isaac then continued with the great work and got his hat trick of assists when setting up Alfie who scored his second

Credit to the Jaguars who continued to battle and made it difficult for us to break them down and didn’t let their heads drop.

A great performance to end the season on.

Killingworth Yellows W - L Cramlington Blue Star Milan

A good game on a blustery Sunday morning against a well coached Cramlington side. We took an early lead through a goal from Isaac crossed to him from a corner

Second goal was a goal from Alfie who picked up the ball just inside our half and took it to the edge of the box before a neat finish

Credit to Cramlington who regrouped against sustained pressure and came back into the game with a couple of goals and the game opened up.

Isaac picked the ball up on the halfway line beating their last defender and ran through and fired it into the goal just before the half time whistle was blown

The second half saw us continue to press and a couple of chances passed us by before Cramlington got a well earned goal.

The lads continued to battle and work hard and after a couple of stops from Michael and clearances from Luke and Jackson, we finally got our reward for the hard work after a shot from Jackson was saved and parried out by their keeper into the path of Aaron!

Cramlington continued to push but we managed to get another after Leon played a ball through to James who ran through on goal with a composed finish

The last 5 minutes felt like half an hour as Cramlington piled on the pressure but the lads stood firm to maintain the lead and take the victory.

Killingworth U10 Yellows W - L Newcastle City Juniors U11 Girls Jaguars

An evening kick off away to a City Juniors Girls team. A great team performance by the lads 💪

We started well with an early goal from Leon, with some good build up play from Isaac, Theo and James

The Jaguars battled back into the game and equalised with a well worked goal.

We battled back and reasserted the lead with a goal from Alfie after Leon crossed it in and Alfie put it away with a tidy finish

Just before half time there was some nice build up play between Aaron and Leon who set up Theo who fired it past the keeper with his left foot in the last kick of the half

The jaguars regrouped and the lads had to work hard to match them but with some great team defending and Michael doing a great job standing in for Nathan 🧤

A tough physical game but one the lads came through well. Most pleasing of all was how hard they worked and how much they worked for each other

We’ll look forward to playing the Jaguars again at home in a week and a half ⚽️

Easter tournament today! 🐣

The team done brilliantly!

After 6 group games of some really good, close and tense footy from all involved we secured a spot in the semi finals!

A game that was really evenly matched with both teams working their socks off!

It ended on a draw and going to penalties.. really tense moment which saw the opposition secure their place in the final with one goal in it.

Really proud of all the team today!

Our keeper was away on holiday so Michael stepped up to fill in and did us proud! We also had Holly join us as a guest player and you would never think it was her first time playing with the lads she slotted in perfectly!

Today we celebrate the mums who make grassroots football possible. ❤️⚽

Killingworth Yellows W - L Longhoughton Bengals

A great game of football this morning between two evenly matched sides.

We were caught napping early on and found ourselves 2 nil down within 10 minutes of kick off.

The second goal seemed to wake the lads up and birthday boy Isaac pulled one back for us, with a nicely worked goal with an assist from James.

Longhoughton continued to pose a threat and just before half time they scored a third after Nathan had again made a number of great saves.

Sometimes a goal just before half time can be disheartening but it worked out quite well for the lads as we got them in and Chris gave the lads a motivational talk and insisted that we were still in this game and it had the desired effect

We switched the tactics up a bit and went with 1 at the back (sorry Luke!) and 2 in centre midfield to try and apply a bit more pressure to their midfield and defence

We pulled one back from a kick in with Leon sending the ball in and Theo firing a shot beyond the keeper!

While the change in formation left us vulnerable at the back, the lads were working hard and a combination of excellent defending and some great goalkeeping ensured we didn’t concede further.

After some excellent build up play with Aldo, Alfie, James, Leon and Isaac all involved as the ball was worked up towards Isaac who got his second goal of the game

It felt like the momentum had switched and we began to get on top and 5 minutes later Isaac got his hat trick after a sustained attack with a couple of blocked shots before the ball was partially cleared to Isaac who hammered home his hat trick!

The lads then saw out the remaining minutes as we switched back to our usual formation with 2 defenders with Jackson and Michael coming on at the back during a period where either team could have scored but thankfully the lads held on for a well fought win 💪

Killingworth Yellows L - W Blakelaw Football Club Juve

A game that saw us start slowly and go 2-0 down early on before springing into life.

After that the lads got into the game and gave as good as they got. From halfway through the first half to the end of the game the lads played much better as a team.

After a couple of efforts that were really close, just before half time we scored a well worked goal with Isaac firing a finish in towards the top corner.

Second half we played as we ended the first half and it was a pretty even, competitive game.

We continued to press and played some nice football and the lads didn’t give in but Blakelaw were a pretty solid team. Well done to them on the win 👏
