Kilbirnie Ladeside Girls 2013s 2–0 Langholm Girls

A hard-fought and deserved win on the road for Kilbirnie Ladeside Girls 2013s, who travelled with only 12 players on a very warm day.

Every player played their part in an excellent team performance, showing great effort, determination and quality throughout. Kilbirnie maintained a good shape and worked exceptionally hard out of possession, with a strong defensive backbone providing the platform to attack with confidence in the second half.

The first half was a closely contested affair, with both teams enjoying spells of possession in what was a very even game. However, Kilbirnie created the clearer chances and looked the more likely side to break the deadlock.

After the break, Kilbirnie stepped up another level and became the dominant team. Their hard work and discipline were rewarded with two quality goals, both scored by Lily Adams, securing an impressive 2–0 victory.

Player of the Match – Karla

Karla produced an outstanding performance on the right wing, earning a well-deserved Player of the Match award. Her work rate was relentless, covering every blade of grass up and down the pitch. She consistently attacked her full-back with direct running, made intelligent early runs into space that stretched the game, and was always available as an option for her teammates.

This was undoubtedly one of Karla’s most mature performances in a Kilbirnie shirt, and her continued development is clear to see. A fantastic display and a bright sign of what is still to come.

A huge congratulations to Zoe, our Trainer of the Week!

Zoe consistently brings an outstanding attitude to every session, giving 100% effort in both training and matches. Her commitment, work ethic, and determination set a fantastic example for everyone around her.

This week, Zoe has shown a real focus on improving key areas of her game and has been leading the standards throughout our drills. She has particularly excelled in the 1v1 defending sessions, demonstrating excellent defensive awareness, determination, and technique.

What has stood out most is Zoe’s ability to listen carefully to coaching points and immediately apply them on the pitch. Her willingness to learn and continuously improve is helping her develop into an even stronger player each week.

Match Report

Kilbirnie Ladeside 2013s 5–1 East Kilbride FC 2014s

Kilbirnie Ladeside 2013s produced an excellent all-round team performance to secure an impressive 5–1 victory over East Kilbride FC 2014s.

From the opening whistle, Kilbirnie played with intensity and purpose, controlling possession and creating numerous chances. Their attacking play was rewarded early on, with the team moving the ball confidently and showing great composure in front of goal.

Lily Adams was in outstanding form, scoring twice and causing constant problems for the East Kilbride defence with her movement and determination. Lily McK also got on the scoresheet with a well-taken goal, while Madison and Kiera each added a goal to complete an excellent attacking display.

The team's creativity was just as impressive as their finishing. Kiera played a key role in the victory, contributing two assists alongside her goal and helping to drive the team forward throughout the match. Madison added an assist to cap off a strong individual performance, while Karla also provided a valuable assist with a quality pass that led to one of the goals.

Special mention must go to goalkeeper Erin, who showed fantastic character and commitment by playing through a wee injury. Erin never let her teammates down, continuing to work hard for the team and making important contributions when called upon. Her determination and bravery were a great example to everyone on the pitch.

Defensively, Kilbirnie remained organised and disciplined, limiting East Kilbride's opportunities and working hard as a unit when out of possession. Despite conceding once, the team responded positively and continued to play with confidence and determination until the final whistle.

Overall, it was a fantastic team performance with excellent teamwork, effort, and quality on display across the pitch. The players should be proud of their contribution in a convincing 5–1 win.

Player of the Match – Leah 🏆

A thoroughly deserved Player of the Match award for Leah, who delivered an excellent all-round performance. Defensively, she was strong, composed, and worked tirelessly to protect the team. In possession, Leah kept things simple when required, moving the ball quickly and helping to start attacks from the back.

Just as importantly, Leah continued to find her voice throughout the match, communicating well with her teammates and fellow defenders, helping to keep the team organised and focused. A mature and hardworking display that played a huge part in the team's success.

Erin Cuthbert Under 14 League

Kilbirnie Ladeside 2-1 Kilwinning Rangers

Today the girls were back in league action against Kilwinning Rangers. Coming into the first half we were very much the dominant team with the wind at our backs. We created plenty of chances early on with Maisy coming close twice and Orla putting a beautifully struck half volley just wide of the post. With the half coming to a close the frustration of not getting a deserved goal began to set in before Orla hit a strike from outside the box which nestled into the bottom left corner to give us the lead. This put the girls in great stead for the second half but we knew it would be difficult playing into the wind. This proved to be the case as we found it very difficult to get out our half, but the girls defended brilliantly. And with our first half chance of the second half Maisy broke through after lovely play from Claudia and she smashed it past the keeper to give us a two goal cushion. Kilwinning brought one back towards the end but the girls held on for a well deserved first win in the league this season.

Today’s POTM is Orla. We asked Orla to play a slightly different position today as a deeper midfielder and she certainly rose to the challenge. Kilbirnie Ladeside 1-2 Blantyre Celtics

Today the girls faced Blantyre Celtics in their second league game of the season. The first half was quite a scrappy affair but it was Blantyre Celtics who had the majority of chances with Eilish pulling off plenty of smart stops. We had a good chat with the girls at half time and they came out a whole different team, getting up the pitch much better and spending less time pinned in our own half. Despite creating the better chances before it was Blantyre who took the lead. The girls responded well to this and a lovely bit of combination play ended with a bit of individual genius from Claudia who found the top corner with an improvised toe poke. It felt as if we were on the ascendancy after that goal. But it was heartbreak towards the end as Blantyres striker scored a screamer to give them the three points. It was a second half performance that deserved so much more but unfortunately the girls weren’t able to come away with the points.

Kilbirnie Ladeside 2013s produced a superb all-round team performance to secure an emphatic 8-1 victory away to Strathaven Dynamo U14s.

From the first whistle, Kilbirnie set the tempo with relentless energy, determination, and attacking intent. Their quick passing combinations, movement off the ball, and attacking flair caused problems throughout the evening, allowing them to create chance after chance and maintain control of the game.

While the goals grabbed the headlines, this result was built on an outstanding team effort across the pitch. Kilbirnie were equally impressive defensively, remaining organised, disciplined, and resolute whenever called upon. The standards were set from the very back, with the goalkeeper leading by example, and every player contributing to a strong defensive display that ensured the team remained in control throughout.

The goals were shared throughout the side, highlighting the excellent teamwork and creativity on show. Keira enjoyed a tremendous evening, registering a fantastic hat-trick alongside three assists. Her all-round numbers were outstanding, but it was her overall contribution to the team's performance that stood out most, influencing the game in every area of the pitch.

Lily Adams also had an excellent night in front of goal, scoring twice. Her second goal was undoubtedly the moment of the match and deservedly earned Goal of the Night. A stunning 20-yard volley flew into the net, showcasing outstanding technique and confidence and leaving everyone in attendance applauding a truly special strike.

Further goals came from Farrah, Lily McK, and Madison, while the assist chart reflected the excellent team play that was evident throughout the game. Madison contributed two assists, Lily McK added one, and Lucy also chipped in with an assist as Kilbirnie repeatedly unlocked the opposition defence.

Quite fitting that Mia takes the World Cup home with her just before heading off to Mexico to soak up the World Cup atmosphere! 🇲🇽⚽
