Parkhill Recreation Ground junior parkrun – Event #164
Wow, that was fun, wasn’t it?!
We had our new path in action today (lots and LOTS of little stones!), 37 fantastic finishers, a PB, some first-timers, a brilliant volunteer milestone and, most importantly, lots of smiles!
What an epic start to today’s event! While the “Ultimate Athletics Championships” are currently underway, we had our very own version right here at Parkhill. And as far as we’re concerned, you were ALL ultimate champions today! 🏆
We had 37 fabulous finishers cross the line this morning.
A very warm Parkhill welcome to Alexander and James, who joined us for the first time, coming all the way from Florence Park junior parkrun! We hope you enjoyed your visit and that we’ll see you again soon.
A huge well done to Seren Button, who achieved a shiny new PB today – along with LOTS of smiles! 😁
💜 A very special v100!
A HUGE congratulations to Kirsty, our tail walker today, who reached the incredible milestone of 100 volunteer occasions!
Even more amazingly, Kirsty has completed all 100 of her volunteer occasions here at Parkhill. The maths wizards among you will realise that means she has volunteered at more than half of all our events!
And if that wasn’t impressive enough, Kirsty has been our tail walker an incredible 92 times! 🤯
Thank you, Kirsty, for everything you do for Parkhill. We are incredibly lucky to have you as part of our parkrun family. 💜
🙌 Team Manson to the rescue!
A massive thank you to Team Manson for their help with the finish funnel today!
We had Jon on finish tokens, with Jamie and Emily jumping in to help with token sorting after completing their own run. And an extra shout-out to Emily, who did all of this after completing “adult” parkrun on Saturday too!
You were all an incredible help, and we’re extremely grateful that you gave up your time to support the event.
🏃♀️ Half-marathon hero Rosie!
A huge congratulations to Rosie, who completed her 11th junior parkrun today – which means she has now officially run the equivalent of a half marathon! 🎉 Not only that, but she also received her incredible 10 milestone wrist band today.
And it wasn’t just our PM smashing out a half marathon today! Rosie has been quietly clocking up those kilometres, 2km at a time, and today she reached that brilliant milestone herself.
22km of junior parkrunning – what an achievement! Welcome to the half-marathon club, Rosie! 🏅
📚 Well done, Edwin!
We also want to say a massive congratulations to Edwin on doing so brilliantly in his GCSEs! Even though he’s now entered the intense world of A-levels, he still finds the time to come along and help us out at Parkhill.
Thank you, Edwin – and huge congratulations from all of us!
Finally, we really hope you enjoyed trying out our new course. We saw some incredible finishes today, plenty of determination and, as always, lots of smiles.
Thank you to every runner, walker, volunteer, parent, carer and supporter who came along and made Event #164 extra special.
See you next Sunday for more Parkhill junior parkrun fun! 🌳🏃♀️🏃♂️💜
