Want to get into archery? Then our beginner course is the first step!

Over three sessions you will learn all about the equipment used in target archery, the basics of setting up and shooting with a bow, shooting etiquette, and the important safety aspects of the sport.

The courses are run by our experienced Archery GB qualified volunteer coaches and once completed you will be eligible to join Archery GB and become a member of the club. All equipment is provided, and our club insurance fully covers all participants.

Following the course, we offer finishers the opportunity to shoot with the club for two club sessions to gain further insight into what being a member is all about ahead of inviting beginners to join the club.

🏆 National Champions! 🏹

We’re incredibly proud to share that Worcester Bowmen have finished 1st in Division 1 of the British Archery Frostbite Postal League, winning all our matches this season to become National Champions 🎯

A huge congratulations to Jamie, Steve, Tony, Liam and Gabriel for their outstanding shooting and commitment throughout the league. This achievement is a true reflection of the dedication and teamwork within our club.

🎃 Halloween Fun Shoot – 29 October 2025 🎃

We had a fantastic turnout for our annual Halloween Fun Shoot! Both recurve and barebow archers enjoyed a relaxed evening focused on fun… although a bit of friendly competition always sneaks in! 😉

Our spooky selection of themed targets — vampires, werewolves, mummies and haunted castles — gave everyone something new to aim at. The different scoring zones and unusual designs were a great way to challenge accuracy, try new aiming points and sharpen skills in a fun, low-pressure setting.

A massive thank you to all who came along, set up, packed away and helped make the evening run so smoothly. Worcester Bowmen events are only as good as the people who take part, and you made this one a great success!

Well done (and also commiseration on the loss of arrows 😅) to Elon for achieving his first ‘Robin Hood’, and the first one at the club in a long while. Allegedly the odds of achieving this feat are around 4000 to 1.

And doing it at 50 yards makes it even more impressive!

Many people compare a Robin Hood in archery to a hole-in-one in golf. Now, there is a tradition in golf where making a hole-in-one obliges the golfer to purchase a round of drinks for everyone at the end of the game.

Maybe archery needs something similar?! 🤣

Who's that in the mist 👀?!

It's Gabriel Beese-Raybould! Well done to Gabe for achieving a Frostbite League Medallion in the 23/24 BA Winter Postal League with a score of 339. Gabe also achieved a Portsmouth high score of 583.

Well done also to all of our archers who participated in the league this past season, helping our A team to win their division in both the Portsmouth and Frostbite competitions, and our B team to place second in both their respective divisions also.

Thanks also go to Jamie for organising and motivating. Looking forward to more success next season 💪.
