🦓 REMEMBERING ANDY WAIN #185 🦓

Following the sad news last weekend, we would like to take this opportunity to pay tribute to Andy and honour his memory. Across the country this weekend, we will be holding a minute's applause before fixtures, in Andy's honour. Please join us in honouring Andy's lasting legacy within the sport in this way.

We would like to extend our deepest thanks to everyone at Northants Knights, Staffordshire Surge, Northamptonshire Ambulance Service, and the Air Ambulance crew for everything they did for Andy and the rest of our crew on the day.

Away from the sport, Andy was a husband, dad, and grandfather. Our thoughts and condolences go out to the Wain family in this difficult time.

Across the country this weekend, we will be holding a minute's applause before fixtures, in Andy's honour. Please join us in honouring Andy's lasting legacy within the sport in this way.

Finally, we would like to thank the Britball family for their unwavering support and for sharing their condolences. This just shows what a fantastic community we have, regardless of club colours or allegiances.

It is with a heavy heart that BAFRA share the news that one of our officials sadly passed away today.

The official collapsed while covering a game and was tended to by medics present at the game, and then further by nhs paramedics.

While BAFRA works with the officials’ next of kin, and its membership, we will not be making/giving any further comments and ask the Britball community to not speculate or share news out of respect.

We would like to thank all those at the game who offered their help, gave treatment, and to the emergency services who attened.

🦓 LONDON MARATHON RECORD ATTEMPT 🦓

One of our BAFRA members, Gus McKechnie, is running the TCS London Marathon this weekend and is aiming high with his time!!!

He will be attempting to be the first person with CIH (Cerebral Intermittent Hemiplegia) to run a marathon dressed as a referee.

The Marathon is this Sunday, 26th, and everyone at BAFRA wishes Gus the best of luck in his attempt.
