Kidderminster Lionesses under 12s

Today the under 12 lionesses faced Inkberrow eagles away.

The first half went perfectly for the lionesses and they all as a collective passed the ball around and constantly attempted at attacking play leading to a goal. Then with a brilliant ball played into Emily.G which she then smashed the ball top corner to give us the lead! With the first half coming to a close and a load of substitutions the opposition came forward and scored an equaliser which had made the second half crucial.

The halftime team talk was based around the fact we needed to have some more shots from distance and work better on our end product.

Second half underway and the lionesses came out pushing extremely hard! With some excellent play and a powerful shot from Ruby.O took a deflection from the oppositions keeper and it landed to Phoebe.R who smashed it into the goal giving us the advantage. The lionesses took control of the game in the second half and made sure they stayed in perfect shape. With a free kick from a way out Ruby.O took it and smashed the ball and it smacked off the post and went in a superb free kick. The game ended and the lionesses has once again played brilliantly!

Girls TOTW ⚽️🦁

GK - Freya - great saves and fantastic starting position and coming out to dive at the attackers feet.

LB - Darcey - Great defending all game topped off by a dazzling run and a great finish.

CB - Nancey - Brilliant defending all game against a good team, didn’t let the opposition strikers get a chance, MOTM performance.

CB - Daisy - Superb defending, and passing, had a great all round game.

RB - Lillyella - Good solid defending, and passed well out from the back, great performance.

CDM - Ruby - Player of the match today was Ruby.O for her constant work rate in midfield and getting on the scoresheet and an assist! Well done!

CM - Darcie - Darcie was the U7’s Lionesses POTM. She did not stop running from start to finish, tracking back to defend and great finishing to score a first half hat-trick.

CM - Isla - For constantly putting 100% effort into every match and getting another hat-trick

CAM - Miley - Her work rate and commitment was 110% even when changing positions through out the match

ST - Leila - Leila put in a right shift, chasing everything down, disposessing the defence and midfield and going on some mazey runs. The only missing for Leila was a goal.

ST - Mia -for being so direct and effective when dropping to pick up the ball then sprinting with intent towards their goal. A selection of wonderful confident strikes and a well deserved haul. Purple Granite

Today the lionesses played meadow park.

With the sun beaming down the lionesses were ready to start the game. The ref blew his whistle and game was off! with some brilliant play from the lionesses moving the ball around taking control of the game and ensuring we as a team played together and covered each other. With plenty of opportunities we just could not find the net! With the first half slowly coming to an end Poppy.W came from the subs bench and decided to power herself through the opposition and place it passed the keeper giving us the lead into half time!

With a tactical team talk at half time the lionesses were ready for the second half, second half underway meadow park came back stronger and pushed us back and managed to get an equaliser…the lionesses had fallen asleep. What I’ve noticed with this team of amazing footballers is no matter how hard they work they keep pushing more and more it’s amazing! and with some excellent passing and moving forward Ruby.O played the ball to Emily.G who took it passed the defenders and smashed it into the goal which gave us a needed boost of confidence. With the final moments of the game Ruby.O took the ball through the opposition and scored a final goal!
An amazing result today girls extremely proud of the result and how hard you all battled!

An amazing achievement from our players this week, well done everyone! 🦁👏🏼

GK - Lucas u9 boys - made a worldie penalty save!

LB - Naomi under 15 girls - The effort that put in from first to last whistle was none stop. Even though she was up against girls much bigger than her she was outstanding in her tackling and determination to get the ball.

CB - Poppy W under 12 girls - Poppy got player of the match for her excellent performance against a player double her size and was holding the defence brilliantly.

CB - Arlo - Arlo was absolutely fantastic at the back today. Remaining calm on the ball and breaking up their attacks, also grabbing his first goal of the season!

RB - Belle u10 girls - Consistently working unbelievably hard to win the ball back. She played on the left wing and right back and made sure that no one was going past her with the ball.

CM - Mali - All round great midfield performance.

CM - Paige under 9 girls - putting in a proper box to box midfielders performance, making tackles, linking up play with her team mates, creating chances and scoring 2 absolute rockets.

LW - William - Scored 2 fantastic goals!

ST - Noah F under 16 boys- put in a great display of hard work and effort today making an impact from the bench and scoring a great goal in a good 4-0 win against Oldbury Warriors in our first home game of the season.

ST - Dylan C under 8 boys- brilliant contribution upfront with well taken goals and assists.

RW - Bonnie W under 9 girls - Fantastic performance with driving runs from the midfield and great battling when needed in defence, topped off with a brilliant goal.

Today the lionesses faced nunnery wood bumblebees.

With the young lionesses ready to play in their new amazing purple kits they came to the game today with positive attitudes and plenty of enthusiasm!! ⚽️🤩
The girls set out in the first half battling for the ball and playing some brilliant football, however we just couldn’t get passed the oppositions defence. Within a split second the bumblebees scored taking the lead of the game. With this the lionesses played the final few moments of the first half pushing forward trying to equalise unfortunately we were unable to. With half time we re grouped and discussed how to get through the opposition defence.

Second half underway and we were dominating pushing forward playing the ball around and having plenty of shots but nothing was working…until a brilliant throw in from Ruby.O bounced in front of Phoebe.R and she tapped in over the keeper giving us the equaliser! From this moment on the lionesses went forward with everything pushing harder to get a goal . But with the final whistle the game ended and the lionesses played superbly!
