Top performances from the lads today as we played in the Tom Jones European Championship Football Festival at Droitwich Spa.

We came up against some top opposition and the lads as always the it their all and gave fantastic accounts of themselves.

There was some cracking football on display from all!

So unlucky to fall at the semi final stage with a goal conceded in the last couple of minutes! So close that the managers were even discussing our penalty takers!

The boys were gutted - but they can be proud of their achievements today!

A super afternoon for these boys as we celebrated the end of a super season. We had our awards ceremony at Cookley joined by several other Cookley teams. A proper showpiece that these boys deserved after a fantastic season.

I am so proud of each and every one of them and how far they have come in just 12 months. We are excited by the prospect of how far they can go as players and as a team.

We celebrated their individual and team achievements and how brilliant their attitude and endeavour has been through the whole season.

Well done boys. It’s a genuine pleasure to coach such a great bunch! Let’s do it all again next season!

Monday evening sunshine was with us tonight as we hosted Catshill in a 7 a side friendly at Cookley. An absolute barnstormer of a game which had a bit of everything kept the parents and coaches on their toes. Think we needed the defibrillator towards the end!

We tried a new formation this evening and the lads listened and performed admirably for the most part!

The goals flowed this evening and there was some brilliant football on display, we were unlucky not to score more on the end!

I’d be here all night for a full match report tonight!! So will just shoutout goal scorers and man of the match 😅😅

Player of the match was awarded to JJ this evening for a fantastic non stop display. Worked hard for the team, great defending and attacking play. So unlucky not to get a goal but never let his head drop and kept going for the team! Well done JJ! 🏆

A wet Monday evening saw us host Lickhill Colts Red in another 7 a side friendly. More great practice ahead of next season!

The boys were fantastic as we battled hard against a physical strong side. The lads never shied away from the challenge as always.

It was evenly contested but managed to find ourselves behind early, however, Arthur poached himself a great strikers goal to get us back level.

We experimented with a few new faces helping us. JJ came into the side and helped in defence and midfield as was excellent throughout.

Nate, Tom and Ted were stalwarts at the back for us defending heroically and making life difficult for their attack.

William dictated the game from the middle of the park and was brilliant for us on there. We had pace on the wings from Henry and Joe who caused no end of problems as they were both menacing in attack. Bagging goals apiece.

Fraser and Arthur once again led the line. Working hard for the team.

We managed to come back from 4-1 down to draw 4-4 and win the shootout. Jack made great saves in the game but also made fantastic saves on the shootout!

It was a soggy one this morning as we travelled to Evesham for a match up vs Evesham United Eagles. 🦅

It was an evenly contested battle between 2 good teams with 100% commitment from all the lads. 💯

There was plenty of back and forth between the teams as there wasn’t much to pick between us 🟰

🧤 Jack made some great stops to keep out the opposition and managed to get himself an assist too!

🧱 Nate played defence for us today and did so excellently as always. Great defending. Surging runs and non-stop effort.

🔋 Ted and Will ran the midfield today. Relentless with their effort. Quality on the ball and showing what lovely footballers they both are. Great all round displays.

⚡️ The deadly duo up front Arthur and Fraser were full of endeavour and quality as they both led the line excellently for the team. Pressuring the opposition and causing havoc.

⚽️ Fraser got himself 2 cracking goals - a brilliant half volley in off the cross bar and an audacious half volley from wide too! Brilliantly taken!

⚽️ Arthur got himself a deserved goal too after Jacks kick found its way through he raced on to the ball and beat the keeper to it with a slide and left foot finish!

🏆 Players of the match today were collected by Fraser and Ted. Both brilliant in their work and getting better every week!

⚽️This morning we travelled over to Pershore as Nunnery Wood hosted is in a 7 a side friendly. Some great preparation for both teams ahead of next season. ⚽️

⚡️The boys got into their rhythm and the goals started flowing. It was a good contest which we managed to come out of on top. ⚡️

🧤 Jack was solid between the sticks as usual. Some cracking saves and distribution and great bravery stopping the opposition

🧱 Buddy, Nate and Tom all played defence in different periods today and all stick to their task well. Nullifying the opposition and allowing us to pass out from the back. Tom and Nate also put in a shift in midfield showing great adaptability!

🏃 Will and Henry bossed the midfield and the engine room. Non-stop running and great quality on the ball from both. Driving us forward and passing the ball well.

👹 Arthur and Fraser had the devil in them and didn’t let their defence have a second. Non-stop work and pressure paid off. They held the ball up and linked the play and got their rewards.

Monday Night Football arrived at Cookley this evening as we hosted Kidderminster Lions in a 7 a side friendly. A great run out for both teams.

It was a game played in the right spirit as both teams battled valiantly. There was some lovely football on display from both teams as the boys continue to develop week in week out.

Lions pipped us to the victory with a late goal, but we certainly felt we could have come away with something. Jack made numerous excellent stops and was brave diving on loose balls to command his area! Nate, Buddy and Tom defended brilliantly. Henry, Fraser and Will grafted with guile in midfield. Arthur led the line up front well, worked hard for the team and managed to create 2 goals.

Player of the match this evening was awarded to Will for an all action display. He played numerous positions for the team, listened well to instructions and followed them, played some lovely football with great footwork and battled from first to last. Well done Will 🙌

The weather was kind for a change this morning as we head into spring. This morning we hosted West Worcester Lions in a very good contest.

The boys once again delivered for the watching parents and coaches as they put on a strong performance. Some excellent passing and movement coupled with terrific battling and defensive qualities was the perfect combination!

We came away with a deserved victory with goals from -

On another day we could have managed a few more too!

🤌Will captained the side this morning and levied up to the role and challenge we set him to be more vocal. He had storming game and organised his troops well.

💫 Oscar covered in defence for us today and was brilliantly assured with some great defending and excellent creativity from the back.

🧤Jack was solid and when called upon was confident and brave with no fuss. Ever reliable!

🧱 Buddy gave us another good performance across defence and midfield - all action!

💪 Henry worked hard after being unwell all week wanted to be here for his team mates and did well.

⭐️ Arthur had a storming game. Lovely left foot half volley finish, held the ball up well, worked hard and carried the ball forward well for us.

🏆 Players of the match today were Nate for parents player. He was all action, covered every inch of the pitch, showed some lovely quality and desire - excellent performance capped off with a good goal too!

🏆 Coaches player was voted as Fraser this morning. Worked hard for the team, lovely quality touches and passing to create opportunities for his team mates and got himself a cracking goal with a strong right foot finish after a lovely through ball from Henry.

Top performances all round! Well done boys! It’s great to see you all developing well! 📈

We managed to squeeze in another 7 a side friendly this evening as we hosted Play R Pro in a real battle. 💪

It was an absolutely immense performance from the lads as we only had 7 players so they worked themselves into the ground and didn’t stop running and battling all night.

A very close game ended 2-1 edged out by Play R Pro but we had chances to get more from it.

The coaches are absolutely delighted with the performance of all the team tonight. They showed great resilience, character and quality.

Jack making great saves and great kicking. Buddy was fearless and strong - gave as good as he got and defended well. Nate was relentless. Never seen anyone cover so much ground! Tom never stopped and was a real nuisance for them - played some good stuff. Oscar battled brilliantly, showed his quality on the ball and never gave them a second. Henry had moments of real quality played some lovely stuff and was brave after getting hurt early on. Arthur led the line brilliantly too. Held the ball up well, took on players, tucked away his pen brilliantly and unlucky not to score more.

🚜 After much graft from the coaches at Cookley we managed to get our game on this morning despite rain and frost trying its best to stop us. We hosted Lickhill Colts in a 7 a side friendly in a great competitive game. 💪

💫The boys adapted well to the bigger pitch and extra players as we settled down and passed the ball well. We had chance to experiment a little bit with players playing different positions and doing a great job at it. Some great goals and team play. 💫

🤩It was a really pleasing team effort with some lovely football and great defensive work.🤩

🏆Players of the match could have gone to any one of the lads again as they all put in a mammoth shift and played excellently as a team. The final vote went to Buddy and Tom. 🏆

🚀Buddy who usually is our reliable defender turned into a midfield dynamo today and was brilliant. Non-stop work, and his first goal a rocket into the top corner was richly deserved! Brilliant! 🚀

👏Tom played his first game in a Cookley shirt this morning and was excellent. Playing defence, midfield and up front at various points - a great team player and did well in all aspects! 👏

Blimey - what a morning!! We travelled over to Oldbury Park Tigers for our rearranged fixture after we got stopped by the frost in January. Also a flat tyre on route for me meant a rescue act from parents was needed! 🚐

🤕We were thin on the ground with illness to Ted, injury to Jack and an early injury to Arthur meant we had to battle on. The remaining lads didn’t stop from first to last and got hit with a later sucker punch goal to end in defeat - however the lads did enough and were unlucky to not be on the winning side themselves.

🧤With Jack’s absence Henry and Nate both volunteered to have a go in goal and both were brilliant. Fantastic from the boys to step in last minute. Buddy and Oscar also volunteered but Henry and Nate were having such a good time they wanted to stay in!

⚽️Henry managed to get himself on the scoresheet in the second half once he took the gloves off with a lovely volleyed finish from Fraser’s cracking cross, a great goal!

🏆 Well done to Nate and Henry for stepping up for the team in goals so both picked up player of the match awards 👏 well done boys!
