🚴‍♀️ Bristol South CC – IWD Sunday Ride Celebrating the spirit of the Strade Bianche on Sunday 8th March.

Bristol South CC is marking International Women’s Day with a woman group for the special Sunday cafe ride inspired by the Strade Bianche. We’ll be heading out onto the beautiful white gravel roads of Wiltshire, bringing a taste of Tuscany to our local lanes. All gravel sectors are road‑bike friendly, adding character without requiring specialist kit, including options to avoid the gravel sectors.

🌟 Women’s Group – 100 km Route
Our dedicated women’s group, led by Diana (Women’s Officer), will be riding the full 100 km route. This group is open to all women, whether you’re new to mixed‑terrain riding or already confident on longer distances. The focus is supportive, social, and celebratory.

🚴 Mixed Groups – 80 km and 100 km Routes
Alongside the women’s group, our usual mixed groups will run with two distance options:

- 80 km route — A shorter option with the same scenic gravel flavour.
- 100 km route — The full Strade.

Riders can choose the distance and pace group that suits them best, ensuring the day is inclusive and enjoyable for everyone.

Ride departs at 08:30 from Radcliffe street next to Bristol Bridge. Check the sign-up sheet for route and details, link in bio.

🤝 Celebrating Women in Cycling
This ride is part of our ongoing commitment to supporting women in the club and encouraging more women to join group rides. It’s a chance to ride together, build confidence, and enjoy a welcoming community atmosphere on a special day.

Curious about joining a cycling club but not sure where to begin?

Our Sunday Intro Ride is the perfect first step. They take place on the 1st Sunday of every month alongside our regular Sunday café rides.

We roll out at a relaxed, supportive pace and focus on helping new riders get comfortable with group riding buildings up the distance. Our monthly intro rides giving you space to build confidence and fitness without any pressure. It’s all about learning the basics of group riding, meeting the club, and enjoying the ride.

We meet next to Bristol bridge on the corner of Radcliffe street for a 8:30 departure.

The rides are typically 50-60 km with less hills and everyone’s welcome — just bring a roadworthy road or gravel bike, a helmet, and a bit of enthusiasm.

Checkout the link in bio for sign-up sheet, route and details. Message if you have any questions.

If you’d like to give Bristol South CC a try, come along this Sunday and say hello.
