Escape Collectives came on our first course and yesterday published her fantastic article on women in bike fitting.

We asked the participants to feedback after both courses to help us improving our offering. Here’s what they said…

Forest / Mtb / hammock / coffee / Penguin jokes.

Easy morning pootle after dropping my son off at nursery. Decided I would take the time to capture the joys of S***f Mills , a beautiful (damp & muddy) woodland tucked away in east Bristol.

Respect to any self-filming filmmakers it’s so much work and half the time I just filmed the floor!

Intro to Bike Fitting number 2!

Thanks to everyone for making the journey, and for jumping head first into the world of bike fitting! It’s fascinating watching the problems and questions people come up with given the chance to explore. Lots of cogs ticking inside brains!

Our 2 day taster events are aimed at getting more women into bike fitting. It’s not a qualification just a chance to experience what doing a bike fit feels like and hopefully inspire further learning!..

We covered :
• measuring a bike using lasers to get accurate data
• off-bike assessments and their merit in the bike fitting process
• bike fitters “confession booth” where you can only ask questions to determine someone’s saddle height

Lots of fun and bike geekery. 🙌

Just made this up for a client but figured it’s worth sharing more widely as it’s a nice way to visualise the differences in shoe shape.

It’s tempting to think that the only metric in shoe sizing is width but there’s so much more variance in foot shape than most people would expect. The tricky part is there no way to easily quantify the shape like there is with width and length. So it’s left out of the spec sheets and it’s up to us to look at the pictures and try on the feet to figure out which shoes will match the feet best.

Brain fried. Can’t wait for the next one. Love my bike fit family! 🙌

What an absolutely mega two days of bike fit geekery!

Collaboration is so vital in raising standards. Bike Fitters Assemble is designed to be a safe space to be curious and humble. Let’s check theories and listen to other’s experiences.

I always learn so much every time we get together. I would highly recommend if you’re a bike fitter that you should spend time with other bike fitters! The different perspectives are so important in helping you continuously improve your craft.

Thanks to everyone who attended!
