Canine Conditioning Academy

Canine Conditioning Academy The home of Canine Conditioning Courses for ALL - from 1 day and 2 day workshops to the Canine Conditioning and Fitness Coach Course.

We have specialised in Canine Conditioning and Fitness since 2014 Home of Canine Fitness and Conditioning Training for you and your dogs. The Canine Conditioning Academy are offering the Foundation level of the CCA Coach course as a stand alone workshop for canine professionals and enthusiasts (last opportunity 2020). It’s an intensive 2 day practical for you and your dog. Course participants will

be taught why the starting point to conditioning is foundation fitness – stabilising posture and alignment. On this course you will learn how to assess your dog’s posture, gait and joint mobility and you will be confident to use our visual assessment tools, both static and dynamic. At the CCA, all dogs, whatever breed, age and fitness level, start with our Foundation Conditioning Programme. Our 6 week CCA Programme uses specific, targeted and measurable core strengthening exercises and stretches that will transform any dog’s core stability, balance and flexibility. The Foundation Conditioning Programme is straightforward and the exercises are easily performed. The programme is designed to be done at home or when out ‘walking’ your dog. The activity items are easy to set up and source and do not include wobble cushion, peanuts or other instability equipment. There is NO research that ‘wobbling’ strengthens the canine core. In fact we have found quite the opposite.

Very proud to have been a small cog in what is the mighty wheel of Cambridgeshire Flyball at the Flyball open world championships 2026. The team organised and ran the worlds uk and what an incredible event it was. They not only ran the event but Won DIV 2 which after the sad events of the last couple of years is bloody amazing achievement- onward and upward team Cambs ❤️🖤❤️🖤

It's been just over a week since the most amazing event we have ever been involved in... and we might be starting to recover (maybe.... maybe not, if we are honest!).

However, in all the excitement, planning and the post-event comedown, we absolutely must remember to say a thank you to some incredible people who helped support us, and our team, beyond anything we could have asked for.

Emma Overend regularly helps keep our dogs in tip-top condition but for the FOWC 2026 she went another step and came to the event to be at our dog's beck and call for the 3 days. And OMG, were we and they grateful! She helped with their warm-ups and cool-downs and made sure they all got a nice long massage after racing on Sat to be fresh and ready for it Sunday. She also was the first person on the scene to check Storm over as his foot went UNDER the mats. Luckily he was absolutely fine and her confirmation enabled su to get our heads back in the game and to seal that DIV 2 final.

Thank you for everything you've done for us before, during and after this event Emma, we are extremely grateful ❤

This is awful but I need to post it as there are scammers and mis-selling you need to be aware of as a dog owner or someone looking to train in canine therapies so I’m putting it up here

It has come to my attention that there are individuals, some who are even trainers and others in other canine therapies misrepresenting their training credentials including claiming to have completed CPD with me at Canine Massage Therapy Centre when they have not.

They have come along to a Beginners Guide to Canine Massage self-interest course. This is NOT CPD let’s get that straight.

Claiming you have done professional level Continuing Professional Development courses with me is different to claiming your beginners guide hours as CPD hours, you know it, I know it and I will ensure that anyone approaching me about hydro/physical training PT/physio/massage courses does so as well when my name is mentioned.

Also beware of people selling you massage qualifications who claim they provide MLD and Facilitated Stretching, they have scrolled down my page and picked out some of my CPD titles and gone on to write a ‘qualification’ in canine massage that includes things that sounds good that they have no idea about, but because they carry a ‘therapist’ and ‘trainer’ title, they think people will just accept this.

Well people have noticed.

This industry is in tatters because you have people jumping on the canine therapies bandwagon and offering bu****it courses.

Some of which are even backed.

Yes I know disgusting isn’t it that there are those willing to risk the future careers of others, take their money waste their time and put the dogs at risk who they will be working with as well as disrespect the vets who consent and refer and other paraprofessionals we work with.

I want to be absolutely clear:

✅ CPD courses are advanced and can only be taken with me after you have completed the 2 Year Clinical course with Canine Massage Therapy Centre AND are a member of the Canine Massage Guild

❌ Attending a one-day public workshop with me does not constitute professional training or claims such as ‘I've done CPD with Natalie Lenton’ to get people to sign up to your course.

These people ask me and I will inform them you have not trained with me and that this is classed as mis-selling or scamming.

I haven’t busted my balls for nearly 20 years in this industry for charlatans to use the reputation of my name, courses and company and name to earn a quick buck.

✅ Only verified Canine Massage Guild members hold the Clinical Canine Massage qualification and the professional standing that comes with it and have trained in the Lenton Method

❌ Attending a one-day public workshop does not constitute professional training with me, and does not entitle anyone to claim affiliation with the Guild, my methods, or my CPD programme.

If you are a dog owner or referring vet looking for a genuinely qualified therapist, please use the Canine Massage Guild Register directory to verify credentials.

Thats why its there to protect dogs, owners and consenting or referring vets

If you are a practitioner and have seen misleading claims of this kind, I would encourage you to report them directly to our office.

The integrity of this profession matters as does the welfare of the dogs we work with.

It’s fair to say this has to be one of my proudest moments. 2 teams I treat for Flyball and On The Run going head to head at the Flyball Open World Championships. Every dog you see I treat and I love them all. What a race and such amazing teams. You both did incredibly well. I can’t wait to see what tomorrow brings. 💪💪💪

Here's how I ended up doing what I do...

It started with me wanting to help my dogs. At the time, I had Zeus and Bailey. Zeus was a working Labrador, Bailey a Golden Retriever who lived purely for pleasure and most definitely marched to the beat of his own drum! Bailey had arthritis at quite a young age from a carpus injury and Zeus had elbow arthritis as a result of his growth plates closing early so his legs did not grow as they should have. Zeus never took to massage, not all dogs do, but Bailey loved it.

I trained in canine massage and followed that up with an Introduction to Canine Rehab, Photizo Light Therapy, Taping, and Myofascial Release.

In 2026, I qualified as a Canine Conditioning Academy Coach - your dog’s personal trainer, teaching you to train your dog correct exercises for maximum benefit.

Training to be a CCA Coach was my “Aha!” moment – if I could offer a combination of conditioning classes, warm up/cool down workshops and preventative massage we will be able to help keep our gundogs strong (core strength = improved posture, movement & co-ordination; less likely to injure themselves; protects joints long-term) and have more years doing what they love.

Weald GC’s aim is to help your gundog develop and maintain strength, fitness & flexibility whatever their age through either group classes or 121s, which are a combination of in-person and online.

I currently have a headstrong and incredibly talented working Labrador, Nero, and a sweet and sassy gundog-in-training, Ivy.

🤕🤕Conditioning taught correctly is a brilliant tool for quickly identifying any discomfort or restriction.🤕🤕

For example, Rufus kept shifting his right hind forward in our Active Sits to Stands exercise. I tried a couple of different techniques and he improved, but was still insistent on shifting it. I know Rufus 99.9% of the time now offers a symmetrical sit so this was a concern. I checked him, turns out he had a rather large Pelvic tilt, acute onset. Corrected. Tried sits a couple of days later and back to symmetrical again.

❗️He wasn’t be difficult or lazy, he physically found it difficult.❗️

A couple of Clients who have taught the exercises correctly, with correct form etc have been able to identify minor changes to their dog’s form when completing the exercises, which had meant we can correct the problem swiftly rather than it accumulating and it then only more significant symptoms detected down the line.

If you’re not consistent and completing them correctly, minor changes may not show.
