West Cumbria Canoe Club

West Cumbria Canoe Club West Cumbria Canoe Club is open to anyone local to Cumbria who canoes, kayaks, or paddleboards and anyone who is new to the sport and would like to have a go.

Based in Keswick, we welcome canoeists and kayakers of all types and of all abilities. Our members enjoy anything that involves "messing about in boats"... including white water kayaking and canoeing, sea kayaking, canoe touring and camping, racing, and pottering about on lakes. We meet every Wednesday evening - at Derwent Marina during the summer and at Keswick Lesiure Pool in the winter. We also have plenty of weekend events - see our programme for details. We have a wide selection of club boats and paddling equipment available to members.

On Wednesday 15th July we held our annual fun games night at Derwent Marina.
12 people started off looking for hidden toys, before the more serious games started with a slalom course testing their paddling skills, and a very competitive game of basketball led into a water shuttle around the course.
As we all came back to the marina there were plenty of smiling faces and lots of stories to tell.
Big thank you to Ian Faulds and Mike Heslop for organising and running the event.

The website is now back up for the last couple of weeks - we also have a new email address - [email protected].
The old one will continue to work - but it appears from comments here that a few of you have problems getting things sent to it....

Wednesday evening club sessions are running as normal at Derwentwater Marina: starting 5:30/6pm; til about 8:30pm depending on weather/sunset time.
There are a mix of training sessions, lake paddles, and social paddles. Members will be emailed a programme soon.
