How many times have you said to yourself, 'I would love to go there but I can't go on my own'. Well you don't have to, come out with us, we were the first organised guides to set up safe guided walks in the Lake District and have been leading mountain guided walks for 30 years! Keswick Rambles provides a guiding service for people who want to see more of the L

ake District on foot rather than stay in their car. Our routes follow footpaths and avoid any dangerous rock scrambles, so an enjoyable day out is our aim rather than a workout! Serious scrambling and climbing are no part of our remit. Our walks are all day, generally between 9.30 and 4.30. Pete Armstrong, our leader is from Keswick and his local knowledge enlivens and adds interest to your day out with KR. Having a guide ensures that you go further than you might on your own and that you don't have to worry about the route because the navigation is taken care of. In summary we like to cater for the average hiker who does not want to scramble up Sharp Edge or do the Ten Peaks Challenge.

This Year 2018, Pete and Bella, local Mountain leaders, will be taking bookings for guiding in the Lake District on a Private Booking basis rather than publishing a programme of walks which is really no longer viable. Groups large and small, families, couples and individuals are all welcome and we can provide a day out on the hills to suit your individual requirements. Prices vary according to group size and are reasonable, just contact Pete for further details and a quote.

Penrith MRT is wishing to recruit new members. Potential recruits should be experienced hill-walkers who are willing and able to go out on the hills whatever the weather, day or night. Climbing skills are not necessary but recruits should be confident on steep ground. Team members are expected to attend training and fundraising events.

Closing date for applications for the 2017 intake is 31st October.
