South London Silverbacks Rugby League Welcolme to the London Silverbacks. We cater for all players over the age of 16 years old. It don't South London Silverbacks are a Rugby League club in Beckenham.

We were founded in 2015 by former committee members of Beckenham Bears RLFC. After 18 months of careful planning, we made our competitive debut in 2017. We currently have three parts to our club; Open Age, Masters Rugby League, and Touch. We are based at Club Langley in Park Langley, Beckenham and our club colours are black, red and silver. Our Open Age team are currently playing in their debut se

ason in the RFL's London & South East Championship. Masters compete in friendly fixtures and Masters festivals across the country. Our most recent addition is Touch, a non-contact variant for everybody, which can be played with all the family. Open age training is on Wednesdays at 7:30pm. Touch training is on Mondays at 6:30pm and sessions cost £3.50 or £8 for a family of four.

Pre-Season starts on the 9th Feb 202 at 7pm followed by our traditional Club BBQ.

Masters Rugby League is strictly a social version of the sport for the over 35s.

The rules are slightly modified to cater to the older gentleman where the safety of old bones is paramount. So no matter your fitness level or past injuries Masters Rugby caters for you ability.

White and black short players tend to tackle each other normally.

Red Short Players - On attack, red short players must be physically stopped and held: not necessarily brought to the ground. On defense, red short players must have a minimum of a definite 2 handed positive hold on the attacker.

Yellow/gold short player - In defense, a gold short player touches his opponent: he stands at the point of the tackle and raises his hand to indicate the tackle to the referee. The tackled player MUST return to the point of the tackle to play the ball.

Yellow/gold short player -On attack, the defender must remove the tag from the gold short player. No other contact with the gold short player is permitted. The tackling player stands at the point of the tackle and raises his hand and the tag to indicate the tackle to the referee. The tackled gold short player MUST return to the point of the tackle to play the ball.

The Silverback Masters Training will start on the 9th Feb 2022 along with a scheduled introduction game on the 27th February 2022 for all new players.
