Manchester marathon? Completed it mate ✅

I ran a marathon 🤯 Absolute madness 🤯

A few weeks ago I did not think I’d be writing this post. Pulling my hamstring while lifting was not the best prep for the day and the final weeks of marathon prep were mainly filled with rest, rehab, and lots of finger crossing!

Every mile I questioned whether it would hold up for the next, but I knew if I got over halfway then I would finish no matter what. I stayed steady and focused on finishing without flaring it.

Seriously cannot believe that it’s done!

Thank you to everyone who messaged or encouraged me along the way, both during training and on the day. You’re all legends!

Have an awesome Monday everyone . . . I’m off to eat!

Being consistent does not mean being perfect.

I see this so often with my clients, aiming to be consistent when in reality they end up aiming for perfection and become disheartened when inevitably life gets in the way and they fall short of these standards.

Being consistent does not mean being perfect.

Consistency shouldn’t become another stick to beat ourselves with but instead a way of taking the pressure off. It isn’t about viewing each event in isolation but part of the bigger jigsaw of your life and goals.

One meal, one workout, will not make or break your results. It is about what you do more often than not, over a longer period of time that will have the biggest impact on your outcomes.

If things don’t go to plan one day, this is fine, in fact, this is normal. Progress is rarely ever linear.

Next time you find yourself beating yourself up for not being “consistent” question this. Are you annoyed because you’re not being consistent or are you actually annoyed because you’re not being “perfect”?

Do you love a meal plan?

The reson you haven’t achieved your goal yet isn’t because you haven’t found the perfect meal plan.

It might be because you’ve been trying to follow something rigid and full of rules.

Here are 3 reasons why a strict meal plan isn’t the best way to go.

1. It’s a short term fix - I know it can be tempting, “just tell me what to eat” but what happens at the end of the meal plan if you haven’t built the confidence and self trust to eat in a way that is sustainable for you.

2. A meal plan won’t fix your emotional eating - If you find yourself regularly eating in response to your emotions a meal plan won’t help you understand and address the underlying causes.

3. Lack of flexibility - Going out for a meal with friends? How does this fit into the meal plan. This lack of flexibility can lead to feelings of restriction and even missing out on social occasions due to fear of ‘going off plan’.

🧐 Let’s get curious about what hasn’t worked in the past and work out a plan together using tools that will help you make changes now AND longterm.

Tools I often use with clients -
⭐️ How to build a meal.
⭐️ Portion sizes.
⭐️ Examples meals and recipes.
⭐️ Exploring hunger and fullness cues.
⭐️ Exploring how they feel after eatung certain foods.
Mindful eating practices.
Emotional regulation and stress management practices and more!

Are you really getting nowhere when it comes to achieving your health and fitness goals or is vour mental filter going wild for filtering out those positives? 👀

Mental filter is one of the thinking styles that we can all fall into times. It is where we notice only those pieces of information that support the story our filter wants to tell us.

Thinking we’ve failed on our goals? Our filter will look for all of the information that supports this view and let all of those positives, those ways that show we’re on our way and achieving things, pass straight through.

If you can resonate with this, next time you notice a thought like this, stop. Take a couple of deep breaths and then question.

“Am I only noticing the negatives and filtering out the positives?”

“What information am I letting pass through?”

“What would be a more realistic and balanced way of looking at this?”

Sometimes it can be all too easy to think back at what we’ve had before or worry whether we will reach ‘x’ goal in the future.

By spending time in the past or over thinking the “what might happen?” we neglect to take action in the now.

Where we are at this moment in time is completely fine.

This does not limit our potential to change.

We just need to make the decision to start, to do something different from what we are doing now, with the resources that we have available.

Any step that we can take is a step towards what we want to achieve.

Let’s be brave 💪🏻

And if you’re ready for the next step dm me ‘ready’ and we can take those steps together.

A fresh start? You don’t need it.

If things haven’t quite gone to plan over the weekend, it doesn’t mean that everything you’ve done up to this point is wiped off the board.

Those reps you’ve put in with eating more mindfully, taking intentional pauses, getting workout sessions in, fuelling yourself with nutritious food, they haven’t disappeared.

You have all of those foundations to fall back on.

Acknowledge the set back (it may feel tough) but don’t let it define you.

You already have evidence that you can do this 🙌

Relying solely on motivation to achieve our goals isn’t the best game plan as motivation is like any other emotion and is fleeting. With the turning back of the clocks, we’re coming into that time of the year where we may struggle to stay consistent with doing the things that we want to do.

With this in mind I thought it would be a great week to share with you some of my top tips for setting yourself up for success when it comes to doing the things you know you want to do when you don’t feel like doing them.

Catchy huh?

My go to’s revolve around:
- Preparing your environment
- Preparing your support network
- Preparing your intentions
- Preparing for your barriers

Let me know if you can relate to this meme, ooh and if you’ve got any tips on how you set yourself up for success do drop your ideas below 👇🏻

Are you fed up of going around in circles with your diet and exercise plan?

You’re ‘good’ one minute and the next you’ve ‘fallen off the wagon’ again?

What if I told you it doesn’t have to be this way?

With support, you can find a way of making diet and exercise a PART of your life without it BECOMING your life.

If you’re ready for the next step then DM or comment “ready” for coaching that cares about how you think and feel about what you do.

I have various coaching options available so that you don’t have to do this alone. Drop me a DM and let’s open the conversation up to help you to get unstuck

This is fast becoming my favourite question to ask myself on a daily.

If like me you can be a chief procrastinator then this question could quite possibly be life changing (yes I’m whacking out a bold “life changing” statement right here but stick with me). . .

I have found by asking myself this one seemingly simple question, I am able to cut out all of the noise and focus on the most important task at hand (usually the one I’m avoiding).

What I’ve found particularly interesting is how much more productive I’m being because as soon as I’ve committed to completing the hardest task, all of those smaller ones also become so much more achievable.

So if you fancy showing Monday who’s the boss then go on and start your day by asking yourself this Bobby dazzler of a question and commit to achieving it.

Let me know below what you’re going to do today to make it a success 👇🏻
