Kenilworth Cricket Club

Kenilworth Cricket Club A welcoming and friendly Cricket Club to play or watch cricket and great venue for private functions WELCOME TO KENILWORTH CRICKET CLUB!

You will be made to feel welcome at our friendly Club! The Club has three Senior sides that play League cricket on Saturdays. The 1st XI play in the Warwickshire Cricket League in Division 1 whilst the 2nd XI play in Division 7. The 3rd XI play in the Cotswold Hills Cricket League in Division 6. On Sundays, we run a side and play friendlies. During the summer, usually from June to August, we occ

asionally play 20 overs a side cricket against local sides on a Thursday evening and also host the odd touring side. We also have a superb Youth section and this year will be running Youth sides at every age group from Under 9's through to Under 17's. Many of the Under 15's and Under 17's have already tasted Senior cricket. We have super facilities at our picturesque rural ground on the very edge of Kenilworth. The Clubhouse and Pavilion was officially opened in late 2009 after an arson attack in 2006 that destroyed our old place. Our Clubhouse is a fresh and modern looking building with a great bar area to relax in. For the Players, we have separate large changing rooms on the first floor of our adjacent building each with players' balconies that give superb views of our Ground, wickets and of the neighbouring fields. We also have two new wide outdoor nets and another throw down net for the cricketers. We hold winter indoor nets locally, usually starting late January. New faces are most welcome. Once the winter nets have finished, we will then be holding outdoor training nets at our Ground on Wednesday evenings for Under 17's and Seniors in the nets and on the ground. Monday evenings host the Under 15's, whilst Tuesday night is reserved for children of other ages and is run separately from the rest of the training with qualified coaches. So, whether or not you are of 1st team, 2nd team, 3rd team, Midweek, Occasional or Youth standard, give us a try. For supporters, visitors and those interested in local cricket, we have a really nice Pavilion and bar area directly overlooking the Ground. We have benches and seating around the pitch and on the Pavilion patio. We also host Warwickshire County age group matches at the Ground throughout the summer. It really is a lovely location. We are totally voluntary run and any income we raise goes back into the Club and our Facilities. We also hire out our Pavilion and Clubhouse for private functions. It is a great venue and atmosphere and well worth considering for your function. The Clubhouse and Pavilion is available for daytime and evening functions throughout the year. The hire costs are exceptionally reasonable. However, during the cricket season that runs from April to September, it is unlikely that the Clubhouse will be available for any private hires on a Saturday or Sunday afternoon and evening - due to our cricket commitments but Friday nights maybe free. Between October and March, there should be no problem in hiring the Clubhouse out at anytime, dependant on any other bookings. We will provide bar staff as well, who are all Club members. The Clubhouse and Pavilion can comfortably hold any number of people upto around the 80 mark. We have off road car parking on site, too. We have held numerous functions since the new building was officially opened in 2009 following the arson attack that destroyed our previous building and have had many positive comments from those who have used our Clubhouse. It has a carpeted area with tables and chairs and also a hard floor area, should you want a dance area - all within the same room. We have a well equipped kitchen area with cooking facilities and are fully DDA compliant with disabled access and toilets. For further details about playing or watching cricket or thinking about a venue to hold your own event, send an email to '[email protected]' and we will get back to you.
