⚽ OUR 3G PITCHES ARE BACK OPEN! ⚽

After several weeks of improvement works, we’re delighted to have both of our 3G pitches fully reopened and back in use!

A huge amount of work has taken place during the closure, including the rejuvenation of both pitches, cleaning and maintenance works, and the addition of 24 tonnes of new rubber crumb to help restore the playing surfaces and keep them performing at their best.

Alongside the pitch works, we’ve also replaced the old pathway with a brand-new tarmac path, providing a much safer, cleaner and more accessible route around the facility.

You’ll also notice some new additions 👀

🔹 Pitch 1 & Pitch 2 signage to make navigating the facility easier
🔹 New pedestrian signage around the site
🔹 A much-improved route to and from the pitches

🚶 PLEASE USE THE NEW PATH

Now that the new pathway is open, we’re asking all players, parents, spectators and visitors to use the designated paths at all times and not cut across the grass embankments.

This is particularly important during wet weather. Walking across the embankments can quickly create muddy areas, with mud and debris then being transferred onto the newly rejuvenated 3G surfaces.

We’ve invested significantly in improving this area and want to keep both the pitches and their surroundings looking and performing as well as they do today.

A big thank you to all of our clubs, teams and users for your patience during the closure. We know the disruption hasn’t always been easy, but we hope you’ll agree that the finished result has been worth it.

The pitches are looking fantastic, the new path is complete, the signs are up...

⚽ 3G PITCH SURFACE WORKS – SUMMER UPDATE ⚽

It’s been a busy summer across our facilities, with a number of improvement projects taking place ready for the new school year.

Alongside the installation of our new air conditioning and the completion of the newly tarmacked pathway and drainage leading to the 3G pitches, one of the final major projects to be completed before school reopens next week is the remedial work to both of our 3G pitches.

The current stage involves specialist machinery being used to remove the contaminated infill from the pitches, followed by a thorough cleaning of the playing surfaces.

The photos really demonstrate the scale of the operation, with areas of the surface temporarily exposed as the existing material is extracted. Once this process is complete, the next stage will see new sand and rubber crumb reinstated across the pitches, restoring the surfaces ready for use once again.

These works represent another significant investment in ensuring our sporting facilities are maintained to the standard our school, clubs and wider community expect.

There’s still plenty happening over the coming days, and we’ll continue to share the progress before showing you the finished pitches once the full process has been completed.

❄️ WELCOME BACK TO OUR NEWLY AIR-CONDITIONED DANCE STUDIO! 💃🕺

We’re delighted to welcome our hirers back to the KMAT Leisure Dance Studio following the completion of our latest facility improvement. Clubbercise in Warwickshire with Nobody's Perfect Dance and Fitness British Tai Chi Coventry and Warwickshire WTSDA Tiny toes ballet Warwickshire

To the untrained eye, you might walk in and wonder what’s changed… but you’ll certainly feel the difference! ❄️

We’ve now installed four new air-conditioning units, helping to create a much cooler, more comfortable and enjoyable environment for everyone using the studio.

Whether it’s dance, fitness, wellbeing or another group activity, we know how important the environment is, particularly when classes get busy and the temperature starts to rise. This investment means our hirers and their participants can now enjoy the studio in comfort throughout the year.

🚧 3G PITCH WORKS – UPDATE 🚧

We’re pleased to share a positive update on the improvement works currently taking place around our 3G pitches.

As previously communicated, both pitches have been closed since the start of the summer holidays to allow these important works to be carried out.

✅ The new pathway is now complete, including additional drainage improvements, with the full pathway now tarmacked.

The next stages of the project are:

➡️ Cleaning the tarmacked area between the two 3G pitches, removing any remaining contaminants.

➡️ Rejuvenation works to both 3G pitches will then begin next week, addressing the areas affected by contamination from the previous pathway.

We’re pleased to confirm that the programme remains on schedule, with both pitches planned to reopen on Tuesday 1st September, ready to welcome back all of our regular clubs, hirers and users. ⚽

A huge thank you to everyone for your cooperation, understanding and patience, not only during this summer’s closure but throughout the last few years as we’ve worked towards getting these issues fully resolved.

We’re looking forward to seeing the project completed and, most importantly, seeing everyone back out on the pitches from 1st September!

Dear all,

I would like to thank all of our community users for a successful year in the Leisure and Lettings team, under the leadership of Paul Flowers. You may be aware that Paul is emigrating shortly, and I would like to sincerely thank him for all he has done to raise the profile of our KMAT Leisure and Lettings facility. With Paul's excellent organisational skills, he has built a very strong foundation for a successor to follow.

The Trust is advertising for a Senior Leisure and Lettings Coordinator and the position will be advertised on the Trust website, Social Media and other recruitment platforms with a closing date of 7th September.

From the beginning to the middle of September, Paul will still be contactable to address any queries either by his current email address or using [email protected]

I would like to extend my sincere thanks to Paul and wish him and his family well in Canada.

❄️ THE FITNESS SUITE IS BACK OPEN! 💪

We’re delighted to say that the KMAT Leisure Fitness Suite is officially back open – and there’s one very noticeable difference…

It’s remarkably cooler! 🥶🙌

Following our temporary closure, our brand-new air conditioning system has now been installed and is up and running.

With the UK currently experiencing its fifth heatwave of the season, the timing probably couldn’t be better! ☀️🔥

We know how uncomfortable training can become when the temperature rises, so the new system should make a huge difference providing a much more comfortable environment to train in throughout the summer and beyond.

A big thank you to all our members for your patience while the Fitness Suite was closed. We appreciate the inconvenience, but hopefully you'll agree the improvement has been well worth it.

And if you haven't used our Fitness Suite before, perhaps the prospect of an air-conditioned workout is the extra incentive you needed!

🚧 Why are our 3G pitches closed?

We've had a number of enquiries over the last few days asking why the 3G pitches are currently closed, so we thought we'd give everyone a quick update.

As part of our ongoing improvements to the facilities, work is currently taking place to replace the pathway leading to the 3G pitches. Many of you will remember the old yellow path, which has now been removed and is being replaced with a brand-new tarmac path, complete with improved drainage and a boot grill at the bottom to remove all that rubber crumb from your boots!

While these essential works are being carried out, access to the pitches isn't possible, which is why they have had to be temporarily closed.

We appreciate your patience while these improvements are completed and apologise for any inconvenience. Once finished, the new pathway will provide a much better experience for everyone using the facilities.

Once the new path is installed, work then commences on cleaning both pitches with new sand and rubber crumb infill to affected areas.

We'll keep you updated on progress and look forward to welcoming everyone back as soon as the works are complete. Thank you for your understanding! ⚽🚧

🌟 Another success story for KMAT Leisure! 🌟

We absolutely love seeing our facilities become the home of so many fantastic local clubs, and it's wonderful to see the Kenilworth Pickleball Club thriving here at KMAT Leisure.

What started as a new community club has gone from strength to strength, creating opportunities for people of all ages and abilities to get active, make new friends and enjoy one of the UK's fastest-growing sports. It's fantastic to see their success being recognised in the local press.... A huge congratulations to everyone involved!

❄️ Air Conditioning Installation Day Has Arrived! ❄️

Today marks the start of a major investment in our leisure facilities as the installation of air conditioning gets underway at KMAT Leisure.

We would like to apologise to all of our members and hirers for any disruption over the coming weeks while these essential works are carried out.

This investment reinforces KMAT's commitment to providing a comfortable, modern environment for everyone who uses our facilities. Once complete, both our Fitness Suite and Dance Studio will benefit from climate-controlled spaces, making them much more enjoyable to use throughout the year.

☀️ HOT WEATHER ARRANGEMENTS AT KMAT LEISURE ☀️

With unusually high temperatures forecast over the coming week, we are taking a number of steps to help ensure the safety, comfort and wellbeing of all customers, participants and staff.

Measures include increased ventilation, additional cooling equipment where possible, encouragement of regular hydration breaks, and ongoing monitoring of conditions across our facilities.

We kindly ask all users to:

🏃 Take regular breaks during activity
🧴 Wear suitable clothing and sunscreen for outdoor sessions
🌡️ Listen to your body and stop exercising if you feel unwell
