Finally!

We are excited to confirm that Kendal millennium playing fields now has a full perimeter fence in place.

The playing fields are on private land with no public right of way and are held in trust to provide secure sports facilities for local children.

Over the last decade the pitches have been subjected to cars being driven across with the intent to damage the surface, bbqs, glass bottles buried just below the surface, glass bottles smashed against the goal posts leaving broken glass in the goal mouths, dog fouling and lots of litter.

Related to this the changing rooms (renovated after storm Desmond) have been repeatedly targeted for vandalism to the point where they are now unusable (kids can’t use the toilets and clubs cannot use the kitchen to make food & drink).

Now that the fence is up we can ensure a fit for purpose playing surface and hopefully start to repair the changing rooms.

A big thank you to the Football Foundation and the Cumbria Police, Fire and Crime Commissioner for the funds, and the Nicholson family for expedited installation
