Ball position with the driver is one of those small adjustments that can make a big difference, and it's something PGA coach Andrew Waple sees getting wrong all the time.

For most clubs, Andrew teaches a consistent ball position throughout the bag. Feet together opposite the ball, lead foot moves about a foot width, and you're set. The driver is the one exception, because of the deep face and the tee peg you can push it a little further forward to help with launch and spin.

The issue is most people go too far. When the ball is outside the toe, the club is moving left by the time it reaches impact and that sidespin is exactly what causes the slice.

His fix: move just the width of a ball or a grip, not a full foot. You get the launch benefit without losing control of the face.
