Clueless in the Pause

Clueless in the Pause The peace we find in ourselves from taking huge leaps of faith, finding ourselves in the process

What if the thing you’re most afraid of is actually what you need?

Sometimes what we need most feels unfamiliar because it doesn’t fit the patterns we already know.

In this conversation, Amanda talks about change, healing and the Japanese art of Kintsugi where something broken is repaired and becomes whole again, but in a different way.

Maybe being changed by what we go through doesn’t make us less whole.

Maybe we just become whole differently.

Four and a half years.

Amanda describes it as “absolute internal hell.”

Not for dramatic effect. Not for sympathy.

Because transformation doesn’t always look inspiring while you’re living through it.

There was grief. Low moods. Physical challenges. And a period of her life that was incredibly difficult to understand while she was inside it.

In our Finding Foundations conversation, Amanda talks openly about what that period looked like and what eventually emerged on the other side.

Amanda’s episode of Finding Foundations is out today.

If something in her story resonates with you, watch the full conversation and follow Finding Foundations for more conversations like this.

What if trying to control everything is actually making you more anxious?

Amanda describes herself as someone who once thought she was “holding the universe up with both hands”.

That feeling that if you don’t keep everything together, something might fall apart?

In this conversation, we get curious about what happens when control is taken away and what might actually be sitting underneath the anxiety.

So I’m curious...

Does being in control make you feel safer or more anxious?

Have you ever realised how much of your life is spent making sure everyone else is okay?
Sometimes people-pleasing doesn’t look obvious.
It looks like keeping the peace. Saying yes. Avoiding disappointment. Making sure everyone else is comfortable before asking what you actually need.
In my conversation with Amanda, we explore what happens when you begin recognising those patterns and start questioning where they came from in the first place.
Because sometimes the biggest shift starts with noticing something about yourself you hadn’t seen before.
A new episode of Finding Foundations with Amanda launches Friday.

This is ingrained from society right, what are we expected to be, good girls, quiet girls, girls that just smile and ‘get on with it’ ‘I’m fine’ ‘what have I got to complain about’ but if these are the best things we can say about our lifes ….. ALERT 🚨 we need a rethink….

Our soul didn’t choose this life to be ok with, ok, I’m fine, what have I got to complain about it came with a plan, we need to slow down, reconnect and start asking WHY……. Jen’s episode live now , links in the bio or search finding foundations where ever you get your podcasts.

This is so true. I think back to my 20’s and how insecure about my body and myself I was….. now I’m like DAMN, what wasted time 😂

I was hot and I never appreciated myself.

I was too busy trying to be smaller.
Smaller body.
Smaller personality.
Smaller needs.

for what and who exactly…. certainly not me!

I love that more women in their 40s are openly celebrating themselves now.

Feeling sexier.
More confident.
Hotter.
More themselves than they ever did in their 20s.

And actually saying it out loud too.

From rooftops… or fells in Jens case 😂

Alert! Ladies in your 20’s, live it up now because honestly you’ll look back in 20 years and think:
jesus christ what was I worrying about…..

Cliches are cheesefest but honestly they become clichés for a reason.

Haha, I should ™ this line, it’s what helped me change my life and I still use it on a daily basis…. It’s a huge part of the mentoring work I do at the Foundation Studio….

How you speak to yourself.
How you abandon yourself.
How honest you are with yourself.
What you tolerate from yourself.

That becomes the blueprint for everyone else to use too

We get angry at other people treating us badly but I wonder if actually we’re more angry at ourselves ….. we don’t often stop to see we ourselves are the source of that ….. asking people for things we’re not actually yet giving to ourselves….. it all starts with us….. Check out Jens episode landing tomorrow!

I loved this from Jen because we’re always so busy rushing through life, it’s not often we stop long enough to appreciate what we actually have in our lives and where we’ve already been…..

Sometimes it’s literally just:
a really well made coffee
managing 2 gym sessions in a week
or Beth and Rip being back on the TV 😂

Small joys.

But I do know when we get used to celebrating small things, it fills up the joy tank a bit.

And then when the bigger things arrive, we’re more able to actually own them instead of brushing straight past them too. Find Jens episode this Friday where you find your podcasts …. Don’t forget to like, subscribe for notifications & review 😘
