It's a long post but important one so please buckle in.
Who wants to help and be part of a new community project to raise money for Cumbrian baby loss charity Tigerlilly Trust?
Are you a beach combing affectionado? Do you know a beach comber you can tell about this project? If so please share.
I'm putting together an exhibition for next year. I'd really love to make a giant community piece similar to this style.
I'm calling all beach treasure hunters to get in touch. I would need you to bag any items you'd like to donate in groups of colours. E.g. bit of sea worn red glass/pebbles/shells/plastics in one bag. Any items of a different colour in another bag, etc. Then post them to me. (Please pm me for more details if you'd like to take part)
Ideally, bags would be clear, labled with your name, age, and town where you live, this is for when the piece is in the exhibition, I can credit your contribution.
Why am I doing this? I hear you ask...
In march 2020 I had a miscarriage at 20 weeks of our baby Alex, all I got to take home from hospital after going through labour was a care package from Tigerlilly Trust, I clutched on to it in grief in car journey home.
When the whole world was in lockdown, Tigerlilly supported myself and my husband through some incredibly dark times. Then when I gave birth to our Rainbow baby Xena, I received the most beautiful rainbow hand knitted cardi, hat and bootys, in a care package again from Tigerlilly and it brought so many tears of joy and releif.
I can't describe how important Tigerlilly was for me/us in those times, it was a complete lifeline. So I'd like to raise money to help support them continue their amazing work.
This community piece will be displayed along side some of my own work and I will be auctioning the piece at the end of the exhibition to raise money for Tigerlilly Trust (baby loss and rainbow baby support group in Cumbria).
So if you'd like to be part of this then please get in touch, like and share.
