We just attended an annual course in Bristol with members from Bristol Ki Aikido, Bridport Aikido Club, Swindon club and our Kendal. Its quite a trek but well worth the effort. All grades can attend with several gradings from orange to green and from green to blue belts. These are always a great transfer of knowledge and experience with some lovely people. Always good to see old friends too. Next course is in Bridport.

Progress over 3 months learning to roll as a white belt. Little by little and still much to learn. You can see the progression and effort required to improve. Well done Josh.

Two more gradings today. Georgi is now green belt and Chris is now a black belt. They have both worked very hard to get to this point. With time, effort, persistence and percerverance we can all achieve our goals. Learning a martial art gives you more than just a sense of achievement though. You are developing skills which help within the art but also in daily life. We learn to be calm, relaxed, focused in our intent and dynamic in all that we do. Along side all that we get useful exercise and become more supple.

Aikido sessions start again on the 7th January @ 6:30 in the Queen Kathrine School gym in Kendal. Beginners sessions will be starting in the new year but you can come to any session to start. Come prepared with some loose clothing.

Beginners session Announcements to follow.

Merry Christmas to all.

See what can be achieved. How. Well you just have to start. Join our Aikido club Wednesday night 6:30 -8:30. Learn to be calm and relaxed in difficult situations. Become more flexible and focused with Dynamic relaxation which enhances and strengthens a Japanese martial art that flows with elegance and power. Dont expect to be a master on the first night. It takes time, effort and persistance as Simon has shown in his recent black belt grading.
We are located at Queen Katherine School Kendal in the small gym. Look for directions in the many images on this page.
Looking forward to meeting you. Age and fitness is not an issue as long as you are 18. 😁

Just getting in some practice. It was taken a little while ago as you can see with the old mats but ive only just managed to make it work on facebook.

Its time to make that step. Start your new martial art that develops and coordinates the mind and body. Improves flexibility and provides you with the skills to defend yourself with calmness and a positive mind.Skills that can be transferred to all aspects of life.
We are open to all ages and fitness levels, although we dont run kids classes at this moment. Despite this we can take kids from the age of 15 as long as they are accompanied by an adult and preferably taking part rather than just watching.
Give it a try and your first session will be just £1. We recommend coming to at least 3 or 4 classes before deciding to buy a Gi. (Martial arts white uniform). Come in loose fit clothing such as tracksuit trousers and a t shirt and your ready to go.
We train on Wednesday's from 6:30 - 8:30 at Queen Catherine School, Kendal. Look forward to seeing you there.
