A lovely day today with a group of ladies from Newcastle climbing wall. We looked at moving on rock, placing gear, building anchors with a rigging rope and without, and placing gear on lead. Plus lots of climbing. Not sure how we fitted it in! Must be all this sunshine we are getting ๐Ÿ˜‰โ˜€๏ธ๐Ÿง—โ€โ™€๏ธ

Yesterday I had the honour to climb Slab and Notch on Pillar with Richard. We biked in from Ennerdale, hiked up, enjoyed the climbers traverse all before starting the route. Which was spectacular. A mod climb in E1 situations. Two abseils off led us back to the climbers traverse for the descent back down to our bikes. Despite the bumpy track we were very glad to be on our bikes again. What a day!

After a long winter of training it paid off with two fantastic days in the Helvellyn range running over 37km and over 2600 meters of ascent in the Saunders Mountain Marathon. The training paid off as we came in 9th female, 11th vets. Pretty pleased with ourselves. The Lakes as always was beautiful and lots of new places visited. Although vis was generally about 50meters at most! ๐Ÿ˜‚๐Ÿ˜‚โ›ฐ๏ธโ›ฐ๏ธ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ๐Ÿƒโ€โ™€๏ธ

Last week we had the pleasure of taking these two young ladies on a navigation and scrambling course. The sun was out and we had a fabulous day. New skills learnt for them to take with them as they continue to enjoy the mountains
