🌟 The Challenge 40 for 40 🌟
On June 13th, Our Yolande from Pete Bland Sports proudly joined a dedicated team in Old Hutton Primary School’s 40 for 40 Challenge! Together with seven others, Yolande ran from Threlkeld to Old Hutton, raising funds for three important charities. This initiative was inspired by Nick Turley, the headteacher of Old Hutton, as a way to celebrate his 40th birthday.

🌤️ The Day
The challenge started tough, with nearly half the ascent in the first leg and 25-30mph winds. But the breathtaking views made it all worthwhile! Reaching the first Support Point at Grisedale Tarn was a huge relief, thanks to our amazing volunteers who provided water and snacks.
As we descended into Ambleside, the sun came out, and so did our supporters! The cheers from friends, families, staff, and pupils kept us motivated, especially as fatigue set in. The final stretch from Staveley to Old Hutton was grueling, but nothing could compare to the exhilarating moment we crossed the finish line, surrounded by our school community.
❤️ This challenge has united our school community in ways we couldn’t have imagined. The outpouring of support and involvement from staff and parents has been incredible.
We set out to raise money, but we gained so much more shared memories and a deeper sense of community.
A huge thank you to Chris Gordon and Dave Nelson for capturing these special moments! 📸
Well done to everyone who participated and supported this amazing journey, especially Yolande and the team!
Well done from all of us at Pete Bland Sports! 👏
