A huge thank you to everyone who helped make the Alexander Cup at Abbot Hall Bowling Club such a successful event yesterday. From the players and supporters to the volunteers who helped behind the scenes, your contribution is greatly appreciated.
The Alexander Cup was first introduced in 1933 and was played until 1985. Open to people living in Kendal who belonged to a Kendal Crown Green Bowling Club, the competition was revived in 2011 and has since become an important local sporting event, kindly sponsored by Kendal Town Council.
Yesterday's competition was played in dry conditions, making the Abbot Hall green a real challenge for everyone.

Congratulations to Alan Medcalf of Kendal Victoria, who lifted the Alexander Cup for the second time, having previously won it in 2016. Well played also to runner-up Ian Mitchell for a great performance throughout the day.
A special thank you to Mayor of Kendal, Councillor Helen Ladhams, and her husband Steve, who took the time to visit the event and stayed to present the Alexander Cup trophy.
Thank you once again to everyone who took part, came along to support the players, and helped make the day such an enjoyable and successful occasion. We look forward to seeing you all again next year!Kendal & District Sports Review@
