We were delighted to welcome Sir Humphry Wakefield back to Sedgwick CC this afternoon.
The Wakefield family were once owners of Sedgwick House which overlooks the ground, and Sir Humphry has generously donated £2,000 to our fundraising appeal, money that will be used to help with the purchase of the land adjacent to the main playing area.
This land was once part of the cricket club grounds and we're hoping to be able to buy it back and return the playing area to it's original size and oval shape.
If you would like to find out more about our fundraising appeal, and make a donation to support our efforts, please take a look at this page on our website: https://www.sedgwickcc.co.uk/land-fundraising-appeal/
Big thanks also to Pete Otway for his interview with Adam on BBC Radio Cumbria today and helping spread the word about our appeal.
