Enjoying an Esk Gorge Day today with Emily & Oscar from Basingstoke who've been in the area having an adventurous week in the mountains.

Today was just as adventurous, but in a different way - The Esk was pretty big after the rain of the last 24 hours and the weather was mixed. The pair gave it their best shot though 🙌👏👌

And that's it for us. Summer officially ends today and tomorrow, as we move in to Autumn; we'll be off for a few weeks for a well earned break 🤗

We'd like to thank all of you wonderful people who have come to us for your adventures this year so far. The adventure season is by no means over, so if there's an activity you'd like to do, skills you would like to learn; or an adventure you'd like to have - dont hesitate to get in touch 👍

Well, its been great to be back to Lake District Adventuring today with Gemma Jones & family 😃 Its been a couple of weeks since we've been getting wet as last week, we were leading guided walks in Scotland helping people to "bag" those Munros ⛰️⛰️

We are getting towards the end of the Summer holidays now, but it's been a blast and we'd like to thank all of you who've booked your adventures with Lakes Outdoor Experience over the season 🙏 No-one has been disappointed and everyone has left satisfied, exhilarated; and with new found confidence in their abilities 😃🙌👏

We're not quite done, we've some some more Ghyll Scrambling Sessions like this one to be run over the coming week, then we are having some well earned time off.

Sat in the shade whilst waiting for the next clients to turn up at Lower Scout Crag today.

As the climate crisis deepens, we should all realise just how important trees are to us all - for shade, for biodiversity, for moisture conservation, for life 🤷‍♀️

Folks; we need to stop messing about and stop denying climate change is a thing - its here, its real, we are now clearly seeing its effects and feeling the change in our weather!

And trees 🌳, we need to preserve, respect, revere them. We need to put the forests back now! Remember, the uk was once forested from top to bottom and The Lake District valleys - wooded up to a height of 1700 feet!🌳❤️🌳❤️🌳❤️🌳❤️🌳❤️🌳❤️🌳❤️🌳❤️🌳❤️🌳

Getting gloriously wet in Church Beck today with Nick Parker & his family who've been on holiday in the area from Worcester.

Get lowered into oblivion down a waterfall, jump into a deep pool. Get lowered down another waterfall again not knowing what's down there, then traverse across above another drop before jumping again shrieking as you go 😱😆

Endure another lower down another waterfall then watch the guide slide down the next drop. Wahay 😃 they've survived - now its your turn 😳😳

So you've survived it all and the EXHILARATION kicks in 😃 Wish we could do that slide again! Well, you can, but you've got to do another big jump in order to get back to it 😉 More challenge, more shrieking 😆 more "Oh s**t!" but you do it anyway 🤷‍♀️👏👏👏

This is what Canyoneering at Church Beck is about: challenge in bucketloads, adrenaline in bucketloads, getting wet, wet wet, achieving loads and having fun 😃😃

Pillar Rock yesterday for Steve, Freddie & Henry 😃😃

This classic mountaineering route is a sought after objective by people aspiring to complete all of the Birkett/ Nuttall lists. The question is - do you have the capability to reach the summit via the easiest routes which are both tricky, grade three scrambles 🤔

Lakes Outdoor Experience use experienced Mountaineering & Climbing Instructors to get you to the summit of Pillar Rock. You can choose to ascend via the shorter "Slab & Notch Route" or the longer "Old West Route". Yesterday, we reached the top via the latter.

Our descent from the summit of Pillar Rock always involves an abseil into Jordan Gap and down east Gully to get back off the peak, so you can be guaranteed a truly high end mountaineering experience whilst being looked after by Instructors at the top end of their game 🙌

Following our mountaineering ascent of Pillar Rock, we ascended the short distance to the summit of Pillar - the eight highest Wainwright in The Lake District, before returning to Wasdale Head - our start/finish point for these days out.

Providing an introductory rock climbing session yesterday for Ravi & Nick's family and their friends in the beautiful Ullswater Valley 😍

Thornhow Crag in Grisedale is a great place to try outdoor climbing, learn new skills including belaying and teamwork to make the dream work ✅️

Lots of different climbs of all grades and the opportunity to try abseiling too 😃

What's not to like about outdoor climbing on real rock with a stunning view like that in the background 😊
