▪️ Well folks! I'm on the search for a young, fit, keen individual that has an interest in cars and motorsport, who would be interested to join our team as 𝗬𝗮𝗿𝗱𝘀𝗽𝗲𝗿𝘀𝗼𝗻.

▪️ This is not an evenings and weekend job, it’s a full time position paying a good hourly rate, and opens the opportunities to move onto further procedures.

▪️ For the correct applicant showing good progress, there will be the chance to travel to events and assist on rally weekends.

▪️ Ideally a clean driving licence is preferred, but not definitive.

▪️ A good 'get on with it' attitude is essential, and a thick skin an advantage, to be able to put up with constant directions! Motorsport experience is not essential, but must be hands on and have basic mechanical knowledge (i.e. trailer brakes and general maintenance etc).

▪️ Tasks are multiple and exhaustive and will include: general tidying and maintenance in the Yard. Washing vehicles after events. Packing vehicles before events. Keeping workshops tidy and in order.

▪️ Must be hard working, interested and have a sense of humour. No two days the same. If you’re not keen to get stuck in, this isn’t the job for you.

Well, that was the best weekend’s rallying for a long time… ☀️ and good times 😎 hectic, but wouldn’t swap it...!

Where do we start? Well, instead of "and finally..." it's quite rightly “firstly” this week! So! Firstly I’d like to thank all our fantastic team members, colleagues and friends, for the most incredible effort over the last week. It really has been constant. Never does anyone complain or slack. Everyone gets on, gets stuck in, and produces the goods. Always a laugh or a joke, but serious and thorough. Workshop, test, rally, the complete package. It really is a privilege to be associated with you all and your attitude is entirely uplifting. Coping admirably with the stress the comes with both me, and running 6 cars in the top 9 on Sunday, running on 30 second intervals...! 😊 Five stars all round. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
----------
So!! The Jim Clark Memorial Rally. Just three days, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, that’s it! EASY... Rewind...!
----------
A week past Sunday there would be a small pre event test at Dundrennan ranges for Max and Cammy. The lads getting to grips with and fine tuning our Skoda RS hire car.
Diff in... Diff out.
Springs on... springs off.
Camera in... Camera out 🤣🤣
----------
Monday
Nice and easy with the sister Skoda RS rental car returning back from Ireland after the Carlow Stages and needing a little TLC 🔨🔨🔨 to see it ready for Sunday's Jim Clark Reivers Rally. JC (the one and only John Crawford) would dial in his tarmac expertise and build up some asphalt speed with a small shakedown. Colin arrives sharp to get off to 🇮🇹 to collect a car for us. That plan goes astray, but I’m sure we have something to keep him active!!
----------
Tuesday
A test with Ernie and Patricia Lee in their ever so sweet sounding Historic BMW M3. 🎺 Incidentally whilst standing looking up (obviously!) at Ernie, I thought, if I grew my hair we would look like twins! 😊 Hugh Brunton (without Drew 'I can’t be bothered testing' Sturrock) would join with his virgin white Toyota Yaris Rally2. Happy to get some running and really starting to gell with his new mount.
----------
Wednesday
Michael Binnie and Claire Mole would have their first experience of our Rally2 Fiesta Rental car. Having never driven the Rally2 car on tarmac, it was a learning experience and with a few miles completed they were somewhat more comfortable (oh hang on, Claire needs another cushion 🤭). Dale Robertson would also shake down his RHD Rally2 Fiesta RLA loan rental car. No messing around here, and the lad was off like a rocket... 🚀
----------
Thursday
Last but not least, Scott MacBeth and Andrew Falconer (not Folconer) would give the R5 VW Polo it's first Tarmac blast since Mull last year. A quick run up the RSC test road. 😉 The lads were a little rusty, but soon up to speed and returned to the Duns Service Park happy. Meanwhile, the transfer of the circus from HQ to Duns had begun! Scrutiny, for all cars, and set up service. Really one of the most frustrating things must be that period between arriving and getting all set. It really does BUG me, everything is so disjointed, nothing in place and total disorder. Not anyone’s fault, just chaotic. You look round and see everyone else with their tents nicely on position and you think... 🤦🏻🤦🏻Then we have a tourist set up his camper van in prime position (nicely levelled and all)! 😊 JC, I never had you as a stereotypical camper…! Eventually as I’m thinking 'first there, last to leave and we're not going to have tents up tonight' it all comes together and is looking ace. Top job boys. 😊 Suddenly, I realise Colin is still with us, as he requests to go home as the weekend is approaching! 😝😝 Granted, see you Tuesday, we'll try the Italy trip again next week!
----------
Friday
Morning and Shakedown commences. With six crews using the official shakedown, things were getting pretty busy, pretty quick. After one run Scott txts to say he fancies the long ratio box, so we despatch a couple lads back to HQ. JC has a few small issues, all in hand. John Morrison hasn’t even sat in his new car pre-shakedown! So its seats in, seats out! 🤣 Anyway, some runs complete and more than happy. And finally, Euan Thorburn and Paul Beaton would head off for a quick blast on our test road and return to service for pre-start formalities.
----------
This year’s rally would follow the same format as previous. The British Rally Championship would run over the Friday night stages, half and half in daylight and darkness. Saturday some nice compact stages and done by 15.00. Then we'd have scrutineering and re-scrutineering for our Sunday crews. Sunday's totally separate sprint event would be a counter as the third round of the 2026 Scottish Championship. EVERYONE ALL SET? Let's go! 😅
----------
Euan and Paul first up with number 3 on the door, they really are quite something. Honesty, with minimal preparation the boys can put it up there. Right rusty but with plenty talent, the boys can mix it. Friday we took it easy, building nicely they rounded off Saturday in 6th ? position. Ready for Sunday. Morning dawned and as usual the two lads are sleepy… 😴 From then on in though, they were on fire. Coming into the last stage it was all to go for and didn’t they just! Cruel as rallying is, they clipped a rock not more than two miles from the finish! (ironically 200m from my house) Game over! With the wheel broken the boys limped home. So close but so far. Tough luck lads, a real shame. 🥈
----------
Max and Cammy, some boys. Once we got the camera sorted 🙋🏽‍♂️ they were set (they do like a camera these pair!) 🤩🤩 With a small change to suspension in service after the first two stages, the lads were properly comfortable and boom 💥 the car was on rails. 😊 From here on the two lads maintained their lead and really pushed on. Fantastic win, putting their BRC campaign back on track. 🥇 Meanwhile Big Al was seen leaving Service with the last of the sandwiches tucked in his inside pocket... 🥳
----------
Dale Robertson and Keir Beaton once again out for their annual blast. This really is so fantastic that they can just jump in there and instantly drop back into a consistently sharp pace. As always, it's about getting the mileage, to compete and cover the stages but the lads would also be giving it plenty... Building over the Friday night, the boys were set for a run on Saturday. Great speed saw them safe in 10th position and ready to give it all on Sunday. With the soft compound tyres fitted for the morning loop, Dale found the back end wandering a bit. Then after a fifth gear jump, there was a bit of a handful (I sh** myself) 🫪 when a rear suspension bolt sheared. With this righted in service, and medium compound tyres fitted the boys were off on a hack. Gret result 11th and only a missing wing mirror!👌🏼RESULT.
----------
Scott and Andrew are true competitors. Quiet, but prepared. Friday night was good, all comfortable, until coming off the last stage. There was a misfire / cut and the pair coaxed it back to Service. There it started to try and solve the issue with the Polo. At 02.30 when the Gate Marshal said (quite rightly!) we weren’t allowed to run the car any more... we were stuck! 🤨 I really felt at 03.04 when climbing into bed that I wasn’t sure if we would mange to get them going on Saturday. 😟 Having changed practically everything, the last ditch was a set of injectors off my own car in the workshop! BINGO! That old Dutch saying 😊 JUST IN TIME IS ALSO IN TIME…. 🇳🇱 From there the two boys motored round for Saturday with no problem finishing in 8th. Just need to bolt all the changed parts back now! Sunday's SRC was the big push today for these lads. Good strong time over the opening two stages saw them build up for a push on ss3. Going too deep, there was only the option to pull the magic wand, which unfortunately on this occasion said NO! A broken wheel resulted in a stop and change, and really there wasn’t much point to continue after. Tough luck lads. 🙁
----------
Hugh and (glad you could join us) Drew suddenly didn’t have a virgin white Yaris, but a vibrant green machine (very smart! 💚) With a precautionary clutch change after the shakedown, the boys were flying. Really settling into the new car, Hugh was feeling pretty comfortable. Saturday’s stages were very flowing and suited the partnership well. Great speed and consistency saw the pair wind up 9th and very much looking forward to Sunday. Sharp and ready for it early, the boys were set for another day. As Hugh knocked back another coffee they headed out to the stages. Going well up until the stage before service, and Drew called to say the clutch had started slipping! With another new clutch not available, we only had the option to recycle and reuse from a selection of used items! Calculations done and the lads had it changed in good time. Thank you. 🙏 👏🏻 👏🏻 Pushing on well over the final loop saw us home and dry and a great 3rd overall. 🥉Philo was top camera man on this team also... 🤭🤭
----------
John and Josh Davison in their RHD Rally2 Fiesta were set for the off. This really is light-hearted rallying, but we also have a fierce competitive streak. Unfortunately, Friday night saw time loss when the fire extinguisher became dislodged and knocked a PDU connector off. As the car ground to a halt in the darkness, fair play to John rectifying the fault and getting the wheels rolling again. Saturday the boys flew on and increased their pace, until an unfortunate failure of one of the exhaust clamps which was causing severe heat build up, melted a steering bush. With a chance of an early BBQ occurring, it was decided to return to Service. Danny & Hayley got the clamp sorted, while Mikey and Spud departed to Thorburns and spinning back the years Mikey was piloting the lathe as if it was 20 years ago in Hassington..! Top job done in the nick of time, and the lads returned for the afternoon loop! Sunday morning we started off with the soft compound tyres but realised by the time we arrived in Service the Berwickshire tropical weather was far warmer than that of Lanarkshire, and the next step up would be required! Suitably booted the two bold boys enjoyed their afternoon and now can be regarded as tarmac specialists! 🤠🤠
----------
John Morrison and Iain Thorburn were first time in the new car and Friday was learning, and tipping on through the night stages nicely. On arrival in Service, they were concerned about some transmission noises… a quick run up the road and we decided to pull the rear diff out. As luck would have it, our spare car was on site so a rapid transplant saw the Morrison Rally Team car back up and running in no time. Saturday was good except for some handbrake abnormality, with the disconnect pump changed at the final Service the boys were flying. A great days rallying and a lot of leaning done. Sundays Reiver’s rally really was a ball, revelling in the new cars capability the boys pushed on nicely. Thoroughly enjoying their weekend and rounding the day off in 32nd. 😊
----------
Michael and Claire had a quick spin Wednesday evening, but really that’s nothing to grasp the possibilities of these machines. Light years on from the MK1 R5, never mind the Evo9. 🚀 Anyway, they spent the day gathering pace and exploring the potential of the machine. Fair play 4th place overall time on the last stage of the day was a marker as to the competitive nature of this pair! Well done, great effort. 🥳
----------
Our Icelandic 🇮🇸 super sibling stars 🤩 Dani and Pinky are so much fun to be around! They are competing on the BTRDA this year, but after two good events in the SRC this year, they thought they'd give the Jim Clark a whirl! Arriving into Scotland on Saturday, we had no time for a recce, and just had time for a quick run on the Greenlaw test road (I mean like 10miles max!)... in our SOCKS as our oversized shoes didn’t fit between the pedals! 🤭 This is not really the full preparation to be swapping times with the establishment… but we will give it a good go, and this does show the pairs level of skill and comitment to be up there punching in great times! 15 years since they last compete on tarmac in an Evo X (Tank!) this really was a great result! Daniel announced whilst sitting in his boxers drinking a beer after the rally (he had forgotten his trousers 😝) that he’s officially old: he’s bought a VOLVO!! However, this result goes to prove Volvo drivers are not old but young at heart! ❤️ Top result at 6th overall, and now leading the SRC! 😊 See you both soon.
----------
Bob Adamson and Harry Stubbs were back together hoping for more miles than their last event. 🤦🏻 The last crew for a Greenlaw blast! (George has fairly been cramming them in this week!!🤠🤠)
With a quick reset to tarmac driving, the lads were set and off they went on Sunday morning. The lunchtime Service break saw Ian need to leave the BBQ🍗 for five minutes to do a wee adjust to the suspension! The afternoon's motoring was the finest! A wee issue with the launch saw minimal time loss, but over the moon to be round. Fair play lads. 👌🏼👏🏻
----------
Ernie was excitedly telling me and showing pictures of his new Combine Harvester! (I think there’s a 70s song theme here) however once he set rip on the stages, there was only one vehicle he was excited about!! Ernie and Patricia were loving it! Big drifts and revs all day long! I’m not sure if drifting is the fastest on tar, but who gives a stuff! 😃😃 A fantastic day out loving it! Super Senior could be taken to description court! 🥳🤩
----------
And that's it! A few weeks ago my friend said we should cap at no more than 9 cars on one day 😝 Split over the weekend, that average was achieved! 😃 There were 17 starts, one retrial and one restart. 15½ finishes isn't bad: we’re still striving for 100% and one day we will get there. 🤩

Special mention today is all about the Jim Clark Rally and the people of Duns! The town where I went to school and have so many friends, and really the enthusiasm for the rally is fantastic! Thanks to Wink at Border Baguettes for putting on a fantastic Sunday BBQ - the atmosphere was great. And to all the old hands turning out this weekend to lend a hand - fantastic, thanks to you all. 👏🏻

My weekly rambling had deteriorated into one long fortnight novel, so we've split it and we're a week late with this one as well. Whilst it has all fallen together, it by no means detracts from anyone’s efforts or results! 🫤
----------
Sunday / Monday after the Severn Valley was the usual, unload, unpack and wash down from the week before! With our RS requiring the quick turn around after its last stage “whoops” in Wales, it was all hands on deck! Ben and I were away late Monday night to Sweetlamb. (Again!) Bambos Charalambous and his son Mel would share a pre-Kielder Forest Rally test with debutee co-driver David Higgins sitting along for both. A bright morning soon deteriorated to standard Welsh weather. ☔️ All done and up the road in time for supper! ✅
----------
Wednesday morning, it was a quick wash off and down the road to Shepherdshield! John Parker and Brian Kinghorn were organising a test day and we had a prospective new customer wanting to have a go for an event in... er, 2027! Mission complete, all happy then back to base! Thursday more washing and final prep, tyre fitting, trailer loading! Truck and van full! Let’s go…
----------
🏴󠁧󠁢󠁥󠁮󠁧󠁿 Round 3 of the BTRDA, the Kielder Forest Rally based in Hexham, would see us taking a total of seven cars! George and Phillo were down sharp Friday morning @ Chris Birkbeck Rally School for returning customer Ian Bainbridge and Andrew Roughead, who put in a last-minute call looking to hire our Rally2 Skoda RS. Obviously, as I just can’t say no... "yep, no problem!" After a bit of a break and his own new car still not ready, Ian was keen to get back into his rallying and was looking for a decent result. So keen they were, they arrived 2.5 hours after our lads!! 🙄 Anyway after some considerable seat fitting and adjusting “big hips Bainbridge” was set for some laps! Meanwhile back @ Hexham, the lads had it all in hand. Scrutiny done, Ian’s car re-prepped, all back to the hotel for grub @ 19.30. It’s so easy this rally game!
----------
Ernie and Patricia Lee really love the whole rally world! It’s a great adventure and their spirit is inspiring! A spirit that perhaps some of the youth of today could take on board! 🤠 Some adjustments to the diff pre-event had made the potential machine more drivable and the husband and wife team were delighted to be back in lunchtime service for a quick snack and onto the last loop! A great days rallying, glad to be back at the finish, it really was so fast!! We have a few concerns!! Ernie was asking why the shift light was red whilst in 6th gear! 😳 We are the opitomie of fashion without even trying, rolling into the last service bright sunshine, iconic BMW M3, black stillo heads and aviator sunglasses! Hops out and smokes a fag! The youth of today could never be so cool 😎 respect to you both!! Safe and sound in 43rd. Fantastic.
----------
Bob Adamson and Harry Stubbs, reunited again 👨‍❤️‍👨 with their Polo R5. Arriving at the start of the first stage, whilst sitting with the handbrake pulled, the high pressure diff release pipe fractured and unfortunately that was game over! Disappointment all round! Bob always with a positive attitude mused "ah well, one plus, we won’t get a DNF as we didnt even start!" 😬🤦🏻
----------
Bambos and David were using Bambos' own Rally2 Fiesta. Bambos on only his 2nd forest rally since his return to the sport. It was a long Friday drive up from London, but the were set ready to go fresh on Saturday morning. First loop of stages complete and back to mid day service with nothing more major than a slow puncture to report. The afternoons run was perfect except for a wee small issue on the last stage… Comically (although I’m sure not at the time) Bambos’s balaclava had worked its way out his helmet and was totally covering and partially covering his other eye! 🫣🤭 The pair skirted through that final stage more off the road than on. 😅 Great days rallying finishing 29th. Off down the M6. Great to have all you guys around! Mel and George, good company.
----------
Ian and Andrew were also teaming up for the first time. The mornings loop was all about learning! New car, new co-driver, the lot. Nicely round, and with the in-car studied they were set for the afternoon. A good run over the final stage saw them nip onto the last podium step. 🥉 A nice result after a good lay off. Always good to have the banter with you lads and I sincerely hope you arrived home without a heart attack, Ian! 😆
----------
Rory Young and Allan Cathers would use our Polo R5 for the first time this season. The Scottish Christmas tree liveried car looking neat. After last week's wee test in Wales, they were set for a good run. Laying the marker down on stage two saw the boys out front, with a small slip on three they dropped slightly but pulled on well in the afternoon. Slightly disappointed to be pipped by Ian on the last stage but still well pleased with their 4th overall. Another crew that are so calm with absolutely no panic or drama! They just get on with the job in hand. Always a pleasure.🙂
----------
Speaking of calm…. here comes Iceland. 🇮🇸 The most delightful customers, relaxed and never a bother. 🙂 Although Princess Asta 👸🏼 has now chosen her favourite throne! 🤭 Running into this event with good form over the past few rallies the pairing were fresh and set to go. From the off, they were quick, stepping up to the lead at midday and holding station until the last stage! An uncharacteristic stall on the start line of ss6 losing them 8 or 9 seconds! The mood was pure mad then!! Driving the stage @ 11/10s they drifted wide and knocked a left front tyre from the bead! Frustrated not to take their first BTRDA win, but ooooohhh sooooo close! IT'S COMING! Really a great 2nd overall. 🥈
----------
Finally bringing up the rear 🤦🏻 and piling the pressure on our lads… Initially our early season planning was scheduled for just two cars to attend this event, and that was when I decided it would be a quiet weekend and I’d be ok to go for a spin! Then we just kept adding. That’s how these things spiral! 🤭 On the lead up last weekend I was reminded, it’s really so much to do and to sort (because someone 'can't say no') it's now seven cars and 'should you really...' 🤦🏻 however a rare old day had with a few laughs, not too many scrapes (just on your corner, Doug 😅). Also the first time for a while we reached the finish with all the panels left on the car! 🤠 So with all of the above taken into consideration, not too bad! Even if it wasn’t really as fast as we’d have like to have gone. 🫤 Ready for the next one! 😅
----------
Another few hectic weeks under our belt and a little while to breathe for a moment. I say it often - but I'm so lucky to have the best boys n girl in the business, that can keep the wheel on the wagon whilst I’m away living the Life of Riley rallying round the countryside! Such a comfort to see all running like clockwork in my absence (we do know it’s actually easier for all when I’m vacant 😅). Your efforts are, as always, greatly appreciated. 🌟

🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 Last Saturday's (11th April) clash with all three of the BRC, Historics and Welsh Championship saw us all hands to the pump and getting set for the Severn Valley Stages.
----------
After great success in the first two Scottish Championship rounds, Scott Macbeth had a lastminute incline to contest the BRC opener.
When we chatted on the phone and he told me at this short notice he couldn’t find a co-driver to sit in. (Inside I’m thinking imagine being stuck in a car with him for two days! Joking 😅 you hear me Emma 🤣🤣). Anyway a quick call, and up stands the one and only Ross Whittock.
----------
James Wilson was another on the co-driver speed dating platform. Usual Diva Paul was unable to make the Builth Wells event. Some quick calls and a recomendation for Welsh-based Scotsman Craig Nelson came up, who would be happy to stand in for the weekend.
----------
Now, our other two Drivers would prob give their right arm to have a weekend without their usual partners in crime 🤭 but Marty and Barney go together like Tom and Jerry, Max and Cammy like Coyote and Road Runner!! (Sorry folks, cartoon characters from days gone by…. 😅😅)
----------
So Wednesday evening, we were off to Sweet Lamb again…! Al & Kian getting all the lights shining on the trailer behind RKS111 fair play, that’s an achievement! A planned easy run was turned into a bit of a nightmare with road closures and diversions once we hit Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 which actually saw me arriving ahead of the lads, having left 3+hours after, as my VW Crafter would squeeze through a slightly tighter diversion! 🫣🙈
----------
Thursday morning the day started bright but it soon deteriorated ASAP! Max McRae and Cameron Fair would be opening their BRC campaign this weekend and were keen to fine tune their settings of our new Škoda Fabia RS, so we experimented with a couple set up options and ended the day happy. Scott and Ross would get a quick rip to shake off the cobwebs, and were also happy with their days running. ✅
----------
Friday morning and the boys were away on the recce. Ben and Kian would head onto Builth whilst Steve and myself would revisit Sweetlamb. Rory Young would have a test refresher day with Tom Cave sitting in beside for the day, and some valuable pointers taken on board and looking forward to the next event next weekend. A good day, washed up by 15.00 and we were on our way back to Builth. When we arrived into Service, the lads had it all under control (sorry, the lads and Hayley!) as expected! 😇 And another bonus, Tom arriving on time after Stickers Stu had been on another all nighter! Mats and Jesse had joined on the end with Marty’s perfect BMV... M3 (speaking Dutch). Speaking of partners in crime, no Elsie this weekend which was nearly turning Mats hair as grey as mine!! These lads. 😅😅😅
----------
So onto the main event. James and Craig were chasing Welsh Championship points and were really getting to grips with our Skoda Fabia RS Rally2. Their times were commendable all day. 😀 As usual with a new partnership, it takes a wee while but they were on it. Unfortunately as it may be, they were caught in a hail shower (I mean biblical ☔☔) towards the end of the last stage, and ended up stuck firm in a peat bog 😓 So close...
----------
Scott and Ross were nicely picking their way along with the R5 Polo.
Building over pace through the day saw them sat in a strong 4th going into the last stage. Mid way through the stage the same biblical storm beset the Polo. The boys could see nothing and nursed to the end dropping nearly a minute, but happy to have the points in the bag and finishing 5th. Good showing lads. ☺️
----------
Max and Cammy would use our 125 edition Škoda Fabia RS.
The pairing did a good job on the first few stages, but when the tracker stopped on SS4 🫨 it's always a relief to see movement again! Unfortunately a puncture necessitating a mid-stage stop and change was disappointing to say the least, whilst lying 3rd. Great push over the afternoon saw some great times but the mornings time loss was done… Good fight back to 4th from 13th, but ultimately a dropped score… Onward to next time on tarmac! 🙂
----------
Finally Tom and Gerry were steady on the first stage - one of the helmets went faulty. The ever inventive Barney resorting to hand signals guided them through nicely! Marty commented at the stop line why they were so many 'five' corners but no 'sixes' ( 🖐🏻 we let you do the maths)!! Anyway, with this small issue sorted the lads blitzed it. Such great commitment, the boys were flying. Great result. Top Historic. 🥇 (Elsie please hurry back - for Mats' sake! 😅)

Another full on week, with huge effort from all involved, as always it's appreciated. 🌟 This week's special mention to Johnathan Bennett Evans at Sweetlamb (and all his spring lambs 🐏🐑🐐) because really, these lads always go that extra mile to help all our needs. Appreciated.

The Monday after the Border Counties really was a bursting morning. Seven cars to wash off, one of the most non-glamorous sides of rallying you never see! Bumpers, guards, wheels, tyres! Sh*t scattered everywhere…. with two separate jet washes on the go the lads were powering through it! So much to clear and get set. (But incidentally, if this sounds like your idea of fun... we're currently recruiting for a Yardsman to join us at HQ!!😃 https://shorturl.at/YuJgG )
----------
Wednesday and Colin was on the road, destination Czech Republic, towards Škoda Motorsport for the collection of our new 125 edition Rally2 Skoda Fabia RS hire car. 😃 I’d fly out Thursday morning and meet up with him and do the Friday return trip 🚀 towards ⛴️!
----------
The early part of last week was all go! As usual, so much STUFF to shift and load. I’m sure folks say really yeah!? In an Ideal world one truck, one car, one set of spares! Rarely does this ever happen at RSC! But this week was requiring spares for only two marques: Škoda and BMW. Simple… 🤦🏻
----------
Building towards Thursday departure to Rally North Wales was challenging. First up we would have a Thursday morning test with Hugh Brunton and his new Rally2 Toyota Yaris, for some tarmac familiarisation. With that completed, it was late Thursday afternoon and everyone was southbound for our RNW shakedown test. Well, almost everyone. With Barney Mitchell coming up with an excellent MTEC Graphics design, and Stuart @ SD Graphics getting it printed & stuck on, I was on the hind foot again with an 11pm departure, but at least the car was looking great. ✅
----------
James Wilson & Paul Mulholland and Max McRae & Cameron Fair would wheel out two of our Rally2 Škoda RS rental cars for Rally North Wales. Both kick starting their 2026 respective championship campaigns: Max and Cammy using the North Wales stages as a warm up for the up coming Severn Valley Stages BRC opener, and James & Paul starting the 2026 Welsh Championship.
----------
Kian and Tom were on the way Thursday evening (PC C… obvs Tom driving 😃) bringing Ernie’s new M3 for a small “health check” before it's Welsh debut. Friday morning we had Max and James getting in some laps of Sweetlamb, re-acquainting themselves with the characteristics of our Škoda RSs.
----------
With all Sweetlamb motors washed, we arrived into Welshpool Mart. The forward party already had our location marked out and tents erected, perfect. Noise check and tyres fitted we were all good to go.
----------
Ernie and Patricia Lee with their glorious M3 are really enjoying the new car. Feeling more and more at home with every stage, the husband and wife team were revelling in the classic, fast Welsh stages. Lunch was had and without any ado the pair flew round the afternoons loop. Arriving at the finish ramp they were told they had won their class! 🍾🍾 Bonus! Delighted and over the moon they headed off on their 8 hour road trip home!! They are made of stern stuff. 💪🏻
----------
Marty McCormack and Barney (stickers) Mitchell were running their Mats-prepared M3 along side us for the weekend. The lads happy to throw gears at the yolke all weekend, and thrill the spectators. Havin' a blast. Great speed and great craic, the boys blitzing the class to claim the second round of the British Historic Championship. 🥇 Top job.

James Wilson and Paul Mulholland were starting out on their Welsh Championship campaign. Friday's test was productive and in fairness to Paul, he wasn’t high maintenance at all 😉 We have had worse. (Once). The rear bumper aero helping over the jumps. 🙈 Anyway, the boys were up and at it on Saturday morning and finding traction difficult, the stages were greasy but some slight changes at lunch helped somewhat. Consistent over the afternoon saw the lads back at the finish and please with 8th position. Next up, Severn Valley. 😃

Daniel and Pinky (reunited) 😃😃 Having missed out on the Border Counties Rally, Pinky was glad to be back. Our Icelandic super siblings 🇮🇸 were flying over the morning's stages and pleased with their lunchtime position. The same as many other crews, they were surprised how slimey the stages were. The afternoon was great until the last corner of the last stage where a spin and reverse dropped our pair down the board to 6th. Daniel was frustrated. 😶‍🌫️ But some good points on the board for the BTRDA opener, and a nice day round Wales visiting friends on Sunday (🦚) made it all worthwhile! 😁

Max and Cammy were competing together for the first time ever using organisers notes. This doesn’t sound a huge thing, but for someone who has never driven on anything else than their own notes, it’s a big ask. The mornings stages were ok, staying safe and doing a good job. Come the afternoon, some small lunchtime changes and a sharp approach, saw the pair up a great fight. Down to the wire and they came up well. Snatching the victory by a slender 2.3 seconds. 🥇 Great determination over the afternoon. Top job. Ready for the BRC opener this weekend coming.
