Most people want change.

Better health.
Better finances.
Better relationships.
A better career.
A better version of themselves and their lives.

The uncomfortable truth?

Wanting change and working for change are two very different things.

If I’m honest, I’ve spent years making excuses, starting over, and promising myself that “one day” things would be different.

The biggest improvements in my life came when I stopped waiting for the right time and started taking responsibility for creating change myself.

It doesn’t happen overnight.

It happens through small actions, repeated consistency. I’ve still a long way to go, but I’m definitely on the right path.

What’s one thing you’re actively working to change in your life right now?

Stumbled across this when trying to find a different picture from the 3.5million images on my phone.
I’m guessing I wasn’t alone in improvising over haircut options during COVID and lockdown.

Busy work day and legs still a bit achy from Saturdays run, but committed to sticking to this, so another one in the bag.
Consistency will be my key to success ❤️

My thoughts after a morning run this morning where I actually made an effort to keep an eye on pace and form to maintain an overall steady effort, as opposed to being absolutely all over the place!
Early days still but who knew, losing weight, singing strength and conditioning in addition to your runs actually helped 🤷‍♂️ Next you’ll be telling me stretching is good for me 🤣

With all the ridiculous twists on marathons I’ve done - weighted, balcony, front drive and multiple fancy dress over the last few years. I’ve actually only done about a dozen organised events. However they’re always enjoyable, amazing to meet/catch up with people, and a good target to work towards to motivate me.

I’m training for a big challenge in June 2027 and want to find an 100km Ultra to do before Christmas and a 100miler by March to incorporate into my training.

Fellow runners, suggestions please 🙏

After a 6hr return trip to Barry, Wales for a meeting with Cardiff and Vale college for work. It felt good to get off my arse and get some training in.
Warm up on the spin bike and a weights session at then a 5km run with a couple of friends new to running. Complete with branded cap because I found it whilst sorting gear and thought why not 🤣

Just some thoughts as I return from the gym.

As a 43-year-old dad, nobody is paying me to train (sadly 🤣)

Nobody cares if I skip today.

Nobody notices if I gain a few pounds (I absolutely gained a lot more than that in recent times).

The challenge is keeping promises to yourself when nobody is watching.

As this week concludes and we look ahead to next. What’s one promise you’re keeping this coming week?

Mixed up the session a bit this morning, making the most of a quieter spell
Still a long way to go on the journey, but each run, cycle or gym session is progress ☺️

Always feels good to get the workout done before the day properly starts.
Gym went form mega full with a circuits class to almost empty, so I seized the chance for a quick pic, then tried to look slightly less miserable 🤣

Are you training today?

My posting on here is a lot less frequent than once it was. A mixture of general life, and the concern many of us have, that I have little of interest worth sharing.
I did however, want to share this and genuinely mean it.
