After the disappointment of no play last week 12 Seniors turned out to defy the Weather forecast.

That faith was almost justified until a deluge came down as the last 2 holes were being played , prior to that conditions were benign.

The leading four players went out first and none of them was able to mount a meaningful challenge to long time leader Dave Raby who was duly crowned Summer League Champion .

Dave ‘s victory was well deserved with three wins , consistent scoring throughout & the only player to play every week.

In Second place was Andy Bennett 10 points adrift & one point further back in third was Mark Isherwood.

A win this week for Lee Boardman with 38 points elevated him to Fourth place pushing Bill Dakin into Fifth .

In second place was John Dickinsin with 36 points pushing Keith Yates out of the prize money on a back nine count back for the second week running.

Two’s were recorded by Bill Dakin and Jerry Turner

The summer season concludes with the Andrew Oates Trophy contested for at the away day at Bradford Golf Club next Thursday .

Thanks to everyone who has supported the summer league .

13 Seniors took on the challenge of baking sun, hard-bouncing fairways and heavily watered greens in week 14.

The conditions, however, suited some players as four broke par.

Andy Bennett, Keith Yates & Bill Dakin all carded 38s with Andy taking the second-place cash on the back nine hole countback.

However, out in front was Mark Isherwood with a tremendous 40-point haul that has propelled him up to 2nd place in the league table, just 11 points behind long-time leader Dave Raby, who did not have his best day with 28 points. (Those of you with an hour to spare, ask him about his bad bounce on the third )

So maybe with two weeks to go it's not a done deal. Mark's lowest counting score is 31, so another 40 next week would go a long way to bridging that gap unless Dave recovers his form. Andy Bennett is just 2points further back!

No twos this week – on to Week 15!

Week 13 proved unlucky for most today, as 18 Seniors took on the challenge of strong wind, rain, and sun!

Such was the challenge that no one broke par

Top of this week's list was Jerry Turner with 34 points, followed closely by John Hodgson on 33 & five others on 32 & 31.

There was just one TWO from Steve Busfield on the 13th.

Dave Raby still has a very handy lead to take into the last 3 weeks, but the minor places are very much up for grabs with some people still to complete 8 Scores.

Many thanks to all who played in the Seniors friendly against Bracken Ghyll on Wednesday 29th July.

The match was played in the true spirit of golf and thanks to a pair of 2's on the 18th hole, from Roger Smales and David Raby, Branshaw were victorious with a final scoreline of 31/2 to 21/2.

Looking forward to next year's match.

Thanks
JT

The seniors' Summer League continued, with 14 players competing in Week 12 under calm, warm conditions.

Andy Bennett was this week's winner with 37 points – Jerry Turner just missing out with 36.

League leader Dave Raby still managed to be amongst the prizes, winning the Par 3 Gross Comp and collecting the only TWO of the day.

With just 4 weeks to go, Dave will be difficult to catch with a lead of 22 points, but the minor places are very much up for grabs, especially with some people still to post 8 qualifying scores,

A word of congratulations to Duncan McAndrew, who stood in at the last minute to make up the numbers for the Seniors Friendly with Addingham on Wednesday and scored a Hole in ONE on the 13th.
