Runners up today in the Catenaccio tournament after qualifying for the champions league final against a tough Elloughton Blackburn team from Hull. Losing 2 nil. Jack in goal getting keeper of the tournament 👏🏻
Won 3 and drew 1 in the group beating Catenaccio, Discoveries All stars and Discoveries Eagles on their way. Proud of this group of players. Can’t wait for September and to start in the under 15’s 🟢⚪️

The under 12’s played out an entertaining end to end match with Clee Trinity at Bradley tonight.
The game ended 2-2, both team’s goalkeepers kept their teams in it, Clee’s in the first half and Jack for keelby in the second.
Keelby we’re straight at it from kick off, Alex S making Clee’s keeper make 3 strong saves before Lucas was unlucky to see his snap shot flash wide. 2 mins before half time, Alex S capitalised on the one bad goal kick and turned the situation into a 1 on 1 before faking his shot to commit the keeper before cheekily sliding his shot into the corner!
Then Alex S turned provided with a great cross from the right that just had too much pace for George.
After half time, all subs were brought on and Jacob with his hard work down the right created another chance for Alex S but the keeper again denied him.
Trin pushed hard for an equaliser but it was keelby who grabbed the second goal, Lucas keeping a cool head to hit a first time shot from 20 yards into an empty net after the keeper was caught out.
Then Trin hit back and pushed and pushed for a goal. Jack made 3 quick fire saves from the same attack and finally the defence of Mason, Luke and Dexter were finally beaten when a jinxing run from Trin’s midfielder was not dealt with and the ball was turned home.
More subs were rotated and Keelby were resilient for 10 more minutes before they were unable to clear the ball in the box and Trin smashed home.
The game was stopped for an injury to Charlie which delayed the game and in that injury time, Jack performed a fantastic stop with the last kick of the game.
The effort from all players was spot on and it would have been an injustice not to take something from the match. We meet Trin again next Tuesday for the reverse fixture so hope for another great game.

The under 12’s played in the cup on Sunday against a very strong Boca Juniors who are up there in division 1.
The boys had a motivational speech from Neil before kick off and the boys were out the blocks from the kick off. Alex S worked his socks off, chasing defenders down. Collecting a through ball from 20 yards and fizzing his shot hard against the crossbar with the ball bouncing to safety. He didn’t leave it long before he got his reward and after 10 mins beat 3 defenders with great feet before slotting into the near post. His second was more about the timed pass from Declan then a cool finish past the advancing keeper. 2 nil up against a team a tier up, we were on top!
But Boca are a strong team and showed their class before half time with two goals from excellent movement and crossing which caused our defence of Alfie, Charlie and Mason problems.
Subs were made from both teams, down to both teams working hard back and forth. Boca in the end put their high press and passing to use to score 3 more goals, which was unlucky on Aden in goal who played a solid game. Keelby still had chances and on another day it could have been 5 all.
Boca’s coaches we’re full of praise for our boys and their hard work. A great end to end match to watch.
Good luck to Boca in the next round.

Under 12’s season 21/22

Just wanted to put this out there on behalf of the under 12’s today. They’ve had a few weeks of tough games and today was no exception. Last week’s semi final defeat was a hard pill to swallow but nevertheless, we learnt from it!
We travelled to Louth Old Boys and despite an open end to end first half, we had no clear cut chances. We were behind at half time as both goals came from quick breaks and two really well taken goals from outside the box. This got a few heads down. Luckily for us we got to half time so we could rally the boys and straight from the off these boys rallied! With Declan winning the ball back from kick off and having a long range shot just wide of the post. 5 mins later, we finally had the ball in the net as Alfie T hit a first time strike from the half way line that caught the keeper out. 5 mins later then Alex S scored after good pressure from a corner fell kindly for him and his usual quick reactions finished well. At 2-2 Aden in the Keelby goal made a ‘worldie’ save by pushing away a well hit shot from just inside the box. Keelby we’re forced into a few subs as Declan had run himself into the ground and Fletcher hurt his knee. Isaac and Kaiden made the most of their appearances and worked hard on both wings to track back. With 2 mins left, Alex S won the ball back in midfield, took it wide, beat two men and crossed for the non stop working George to volley off his knee the winner!!
The support from parents and grandparents was a pleasure to hear, cheering on every single player right to the end. Credit to John on the sidelines today for his constant guidance and tactics which paid off.
Great second half from the Lions that made a strong team performance. We go again next week in the cup!!!
