A great opportunity to show our support to the McGleenan family and all the innocent victims. 50 years gone but never forgotten. This atrocity happened only yards from where our Founder Sean Doran set up the boxing club a few years later. A further connection to this tragedy is that Sean's, wife Anna-Marie Doran RIP was in the Step Inn that night with her friend Maria McShane RIP. Anna-Marie was left with life long injuries both physical and emotional.🙏🙏
Gerard McGleenan – Step Inn Bomb – 50th Anniversary – Sunday 16th August, 11.30am
This Sunday we come together in solidarity with the McGleenan family and all the innocent victims of the Step Inn bomb in 1976.
We would really encourage everyone — committee, players, friends and parents of the club — to join us and wear the club colours with pride.
Please take your place by 11.15am.
Gerard was a huge part of our GAA family and will always hold a special place in our hearts. It is fitting that our club grounds bear his name, ensuring that Gerard’s memory and his place within our club family will live on for generations to come.
Every jersey worn on Sunday, every person attending, will be a salute to Gerard and to all those who suffered — and who still suffer today, fifty years later.
