Dear member

Due to COVID 19 the final date for payment of membership has been moved to 2nd August 2020.

If membership is not paid within 7 days thereafter the membership shall lapse and you will have to re apply for membership.

The Committee shall be empowered to deal with unpaid subscriptions if due to exceptional circumstances.

BOWLING CLUB REOPENING

On behalf of President Alister Pratt and the committee of Spateston Bowling Club we are delighted to announce that the club will be open for business as from 16.00 till 21.00 on Friday 17th July.it will be of great relief to get back to some sort of normality and we look forward to meeting up with all of you again.please note strictly members only.social guidelines will be in operation

SPATESTON BOWLING CLUB
REOPENING
In order to reopen the committee are asking for volunteers in order to make sure guidelines are followed and track and trace criteria met.subject to volunteers and bar staff being put in place (contact Irène Drennan on 07712354856 to offer you support )the club will open as stated below

There will be a phased re-opening of the bar commencing on Friday 17th July.The opening hours for this first phase will be much reduced and will be as follows :

Friday 1600 - 2100 hrs
Saturday 1700 - 2200 hrs
Sunday 1500 - 2100 hrs

These opening hours will be in force for two weeks and will be reviewed thereafter.
There will be no Joker, Bonus Ball, music or TV during this phase.
Admittance is strictly for Members only at this stage and all members will be required to sign in for track and trace purposes.due to social distancing club capacity will be strictly limited to a maximum 26 members in the lounge and 26 in the main hall

COVID-19: BOWLS SCOTLAND PHASE TWO GUIDANCE FURTHER UPDATES

The Scottish Government have announced further easing in lockdown restrictions within Phase Two. Some of the restrictions eased apply to sporting activity including lawn bowls.

The main changes applicable to lawn bowls and bowling clubs are:

• No restrictions on travel for sporting activity and leisure (except Scottish Government’s exemption areas) from Friday 3rd July
• Limited clubhouse facilities (toilets and first aid) can open if physical distancing and good hygiene can be maintained from Friday 3rd July
• Bar service can resume only to offer an outdoor hospitality service if physical distancing and good hygiene can be maintained from Monday 6th July (clubs must check their license)

Our Guidance Document and FAQ’s have been updated to reflect these changes and we strongly encourage all our clubs that are already open or planning to open to read the updated guidelines.

We hope this is good news for our members and that the revised guidance announced today makes it possible for more people to return to our sport.

Bowls Scotland must re-iterate that public health remains the number one priority and we ask clubs not to prematurely implement these changes if they are not ready to do so. Please take time to plan, risk assess and ensure caution before implementing these changes to ensure the safety of your members and the wider community.

We will provide further updates to our Guidance Documents as we move into Phase Three when further restrictions are eased by the Scottish Government.

The Scottish First Minister, Nicola Sturgeon, yesterday announced that Scotland will move into Phase Two in the easing of lockdown restrictions set out in the Scottish Government’s route map. Some of these restriction changes apply to Lawn Bowls commencing today (Friday 19th June).

MEMBERS PLEASE NOTE

As from Monday 29th June members may leave their bowls in the howf at their discretion this may relieve the burden of carrying their bowls back and forward to the club. Volunteers will be on hand to ensure guidelines are met. Please follow booking arrangements previously posted hand sanitizer will be supplied .All other equipment will be provided all we ask is to follow guidelines.Hoping to see you on the green and stay safe.
