𝗙𝗨𝗟𝗟 𝗧𝗜𝗠𝗘

🔴 Johnstone Burgh 4-1 Vale of Leven 🔵

The boys picked up their first league win of the season this afternoon in a superb win over Vale of Leven.

Absolutely delighted for them because in our recent games, the results haven’t reflected the performances that the boys have put in.

Our goalkeeper Riley J along with his backline of Cobey M, Kelson, Jay, Calum and Mark were excellent, they were well organised, communicated well and dealt with everything that came their way.

The football in the middle of the park from AJ, Mohammad and Riley H was great to watch, some lovely one-two’s, quick combinations and movement off the ball.

Up front the boys were a constant threat, Finlay led the line brilliantly with Harris, Lewis and Evan putting in an excellent shift in the attacking areas.

Great to see Fionn back on the pitch after a spell out with injury, he was outstanding for us last season and it gives everyone a massive boost to have him back in the team.

Big mention to Cobey S who came on and played in an unfamiliar role as a centre forward and ended up getting his first goal of the season with a great finish late on.

𝗙𝗨𝗟𝗟 𝗧𝗜𝗠𝗘

🔴 Johnstone Burgh 1-5 Elite FG 🟠

First league game for the boys tonight against tough opposition.

We made a slow start and found ourselves 2-0 down but once the boys settled into the game, they showed what they’re capable of.

They got the ball down, started playing some really good football and forced some excellent saves from their GK.

Terrific run forward from Evan and an even better cross, finding its way to Lewis who finished it off for 2-1.

Late on in the game, the visitors found themselves down to nine players and we pushed boys forward in search of goals but they caught us out on the counter and scored a couple more before FT.

Not the start to the season we wanted but can’t fault the effort the boys put into the game. We’ll regroup and go ahead next Saturday against Vale of Leven.

𝗣𝗟𝗔𝗬𝗘𝗥 𝗢𝗙 𝗧𝗛𝗘 𝗠𝗔𝗧𝗖𝗛 - Evan Kiernan

Evan came on as a sub in the first half and his energy immediately lifted the team. Almost scoring after just 10 seconds on the pitch.

He made a brilliant run down the right wing before delivering the perfect cross for Lewis to score.

The wee man gave absolutely everything tonight and never gave their defenders a minute’s peace.

We get our league campaign up and running tomorrow night with a home fixture against Elite Football Glasgow.

The boys go into this one full of confidence after an excellent result and performance at the weekend, a 5-3 win away at Neilston.
