We found ourselves down by a few goals in the opening 20 minutes.

Most teams wouldโ€™ve let the heads drop but not our boys, they stuck together, kept battling and fought their way back into the game.

Two superb goals from Mohammad and Finlay before the break, followed by a terrific run and finish from Lewis early in the second half.

Unfortunately the match was abandoned in the second half. Not the way we wanted the match to end but we wonโ€™t let it overshadow what was an excellent performance from the boys.

It was a difficult test for the boys going up against tough opposition from the Lanarkshire leagues but the character and attitude they showed throughout was absolutely incredible.

Cobey made his first Burgh start today and done very well, looking strong on the ball and settled into the game well.

The subs who came on gave us a big lift. Evan on the left hand side, lots of pace and energy, he caused their RB a lot of problems and eventually won us the penalty.

Mark went in at CB and was very vocal, he was confident and composed throughout the game.

Every player in Burgh colours gave everything today, 100% effort, hard work and attitude & weโ€™re very proud of them for that.

After a tough start to the 11โ€™s transition games, the boys have kicked on in recent weeks and look to finish the season strong.

The results and performances have been brilliant and the P&D have put us with teams from the tier above because of our recent results.

Itโ€™s a huge step going from 9โ€™s to 11โ€™s.

Bigger pitches, new positions & more physically demanding but theyโ€™ve handled it so well and can be very proud of their efforts so far. Weโ€™re all really excited to see how the boys get on next season in league football.
