In this era of instant gratification and wanting everything done yesterday take some time and slow things down, especially at the start.

When it comes to your health and fitness there’s no point going from limited/no training to blasting yourself into the ground.

If you struggle to fit training into your routine why decide on setting a goal of 5 gyms sessions/week.

Aim for 2-3 and upping your activity at home.

If you’re going to clean up your diet why not just make small adjustments to your current one?

Don’t fall for a new fad.

If you’re getting back into the gym start week one with lighter weights and build it up.

You will soon progress.

Once you start to progress then use that momentum!

Mobility 🤸‍♂️🏋🏼‍♂️🤸🏽‍♀️

“The ability of a joint to move actively through a range of motion.”

So now we know the definition.

What does it mean to me and you?

It’s something that most people neglect and an area that should be continued to work on.

Let’s be honest it’s not the most exciting thing to do!!!

I’ve been a huge fan of the joint by joint approach for many years now from coaches Grey Cook and Mike Boyle.

My approach is simple and I assess you as an individual to see what areas you need to work on alongside other factors such as strength, stability, flexibility, power and cardiovascular health.

The joint by joint approach is simply areas that need stability or mobility

Ankles - mobility

Knees - stability

Hips - mobility

Lumbar spine (lower back) - stability

Scapula (shoulder blades) - stability

T-spine (mid upper back) - mobility

Gleno- humeral shoulder (ball and socket) - mobility

I like to have go to exercises for each area and also combine the movements into mobility flows like the one demonstrated in the video for the hips and the upper body.
