Exciting that Scottish Borders Walking Festival kicks off today, with 8 days of walking and evening activities planned. Their hub is at Thistle Pavillion, behind Abbey Bridge Cafe, with plenty of free parking. Here's to a great week (link in comments for more details on the festival)

Our Young Ambassadors (YA) had a superb day at our Borders/Midlothian Young Ambassador Conference.
We also attended the Scottish National Young Ambassador Conference online, joining the live stream along with local authorities/ schools from across the country.
Our YA’s have a better understanding of their role, discussed challenges and ideas and even had time to work together for the ‘Boomerang’ challenge (to follow)

Since 2017 FOCUS Judo has steadily grown in numbers and pupils regularly have the opportunity to achieve Judo Grades.

James Hunt is keen to ensure the long term sustainability of the club by growing numbers in the young category. We hope to soon have James into school so younger classes can experience Judo.

As we kick off another school year, I thought it would be a good time to reintroduce myself:
I’m Alan, Jedburgh Active Schools Coordinator. I’ve been in this post for 18 months now and I love it! I work at Jedburgh on Mondays, Thursdays and Fridays. On Tuesdays and Wednesdays I teach PE at a Primary School in Galashiels.

I grew up in the Borders and I think it’s a brilliant area to live and work, full of unique places and traditions as well as excellent places for playing and watching sport and getting active!

When I’m not at work I love to spend time with my family, and follow and play sports in any time I can get – football, golf, tennis are my favourites but I would sit and watch just about any sport around!

Life is busy and active and I wouldn’t want it any other way😁
