🏆 WKA WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS 2025 – THANK YOU! 🇬🇧

We’ve finished sharing our student highlights from this year’s WKA World Championships 2025 — but there are still a few people we need to thank! 🙌

The PARENTS!
Without their support, none of this would be possible. They give up so much of their time to make sure their kids are always at class and extra training sessions — sometimes going weeks without a day off. It doesn’t go unnoticed, so THANK YOU! 👏

MR BURNS!
Always leading from the front, going above and beyond for all of us, and making sure nothing is ever a problem. THANK YOU! 🙏

And finally, to all our students — remember this:
Everyone who made the England team started just like you! They began in our Mini Dragons and Kids classes, learning the basics and slowly developing their skills.

Although it’s not all we focus on, this level is achievable for anyone who’s willing to stay committed, train hard, and give their best. 🌟

🇬🇧 BEN, JOSEPH H & JOSEPH S – WKA WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS 2025 🥋

Finishing off our highlights from this year’s World Championships are Ben, Joseph H, and Joseph S! 🔥

This was Ben’s 2nd time competing at Worlds, and what a difference a year makes. His improvement has been incredible — especially in his maturity and overall performances in sparring. He handled every challenge with composure and confidence, showing just how much he’s grown as a martial artist. Ben managed to secure:

🥇 4x GOLD
🥈 4x SILVER

Joseph H, another returning world champion, was once again a model of consistency. His performances were of the highest standard across all his divisions, setting a brilliant example for the rest of the team. Still only at the beginning of what promises to be a huge journey, he came away with:

🥇 4x GOLD
🥈 2x SILVER

Joseph S made his World Championship debut this year and what a start it was! Competing in stacked divisions, he reached two points fighting finals — a fantastic achievement for his first time on the world stage. Joseph showed incredible focus and talent all week, earning:

🥇 2x GOLD
🥈 2x SILVER
🥉 2x BRONZE

And if you ever wonder what consistent hard work looks like — this is it. These results come from training 5, 6, and even 7 days a week, often multiple sessions per day. That level of dedication is what makes champions. 💪🔥

To top it all off, all three boys made the Individual Competitor Top 10 list at the World Championships — an incredible achievement for the boys and our club.

🇬🇧 RORY & LAYTON – WKA WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS 2025 🥋

Next up from this year’s World Championships are brothers Rory and Layton! 🙌

This was Rory’s first time competing at World level after travelling with the team last year as supporter. Over the past year, he’s stepped up his training, worked incredibly hard, and fully earned his place on the team.

Rory performed brilliantly throughout the week, showing real determination and maturity. He had some tough moments sometimes fighting more than just his opponent, but he didn’t let that knock his focus and came back strong to finish with:

🥈 1x SILVER
🥉 1x BRONZE

Layton, back for his second World Championships, also had a fantastic week. The improvement from last year was clear for everyone to see — more composed, consistent, and confident in every division.

He’s really starting to fulfil his potential, though we know there’s still so much more to come from him in the future. Layton came home with:

🥉 2x BRONZE

Both brothers worked hard, supported their teammates, and showed true fighting spirit all week. 💪👏

🇬🇧 FIONN & JAMES – WKA WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS 2025 🥋

Next up in our highlights are two of our newest world-level competitors — Fionn and James! 👊

This was the first time both boys have represented the team at the World Championships, and they absolutely rose to the challenge.

Fionn had an incredible debut, showing skill, composure and determination throughout his divisions.

He really stepped up this week, growing in confidence with every fight and earning his place in the points fighting final — an amazing achievement for his first Worlds! Fionn came away with:

🥈 2x SILVER

James also had an excellent first outing at world level. He faced some tough and experienced opponents in stacked divisions but gave brilliant performances, narrowly missing out on medal places.

His attitude, effort and improvement were outstanding all week, showing exactly what he’s capable of — and we know there’s plenty more to come in the future. 💪

Both boys made us proud with their effort, attitude and teamwork — a brilliant first World Championships for them both! 👏

🇬🇧 LAURA & JESS – WKA WORLD CHAMPIONSHIPS 2025 🥋

First up in our highlights from this year’s World Championships — we’ve got Laura and Jess! 🙌

This was Laura's 4th time representing the team at world level — and her first time competing solely in the adult divisions.

Throughout the week, Laura was an incredible role model — not just through her performances, but in the way she supported everyone around her. She was always there for the whole team, keeping spirits high, encouraging the younger fighters, and making sure everyone stayed positive and focused.

Laura fought superbly, showing skill, composure, and experience beyond her years — coming away with:

🥇 1x GOLD
🥈 2x SILVER

A brilliant result and a perfect example of leadership on and off the mats 👏🔥

This was Jess's 3rd World Championships, and it was clear to see just how far she’s come since last year. Her confidence, focus, and self-belief have all grown massively, and she stepped onto the mats with a new level of maturity and determination.

Jess gave her best performances yet — battling through some tough divisions, showing great heart, and earning every single result she achieved:

🥉 2x BRONZE

Both Laura and Jess made us incredibly proud — not just for their medals, but for the way they carry themselves as athletes, teammates, and role models for everyone in the club. 💪👏
